Terminal Clamp Options

all,

i have searched and not been able to locate any good information on what battery terminal clamps are good for many accessories. My positive battery terminal is kind of getting crowded with wires (pics to follow later)... and i am looking for a reputable reliable solution like this:

Downside fo the above is people are saying its cheaply made and flimsy. Also i dont like the way the plate acts as a washer, so i would change that too.

is there a good solution out there? Am i missing it? I am not the most electrically inclined and could definitely be missing it. also im not willing to change out my batter at the current time for one with additional posts. Int he future though that is a definite possibility.

please help!

I saw another member use these.

However I was too cheap, so I made my own. From my build thread:

I used something like this when I added cables for my stereo and winch. Found it on EBay. Or you could hit up an audio store, most of them carry terminals.

u can try this.
Power Distribution Terminal Bus Bar - 4 Point Positive
make sure u run a thick and fused lead, then you can mount this in another place.

you guys are awesome. All good solutions and all a bit different from one another! i am leaning towards the terminal block option as i think it will be the cleanest looking install if i can find a place to mount it.

this has been a great resource and i will continue to seek out options.

for anyone interested, I just purchased a set of these Aluminum SAE Top post mount 6 lug battery terminals.

they look great, and i will be completing my dual batter setup with them, and if i am extremely happy with them i will likely be purchasing a second set for the second battery!

Have you thought about going for a fuse block instead?

most of my items are heavy gauge wire which looks to be too large for the blue sea fuse block. plus i already have inline fuses on all my current accessories.

I just needed a way to clean up the battery terminal area without having to disconnect every item connected to the + terminal post everytime.

If you've already inline fused, then I wouldn't bother. Don't be fooled though, some of those Blue Seas can easily take 4 and 8 AWG. I have wing nut terminal posts right now but I'm not I want to add on anymore than I already have.
