Remove Web Apps from Entune?
Anybody know how to remove the web apps (pandora, slacker, etc) from Entune? I only ever use Satellite, CD and Bluetooth.
I'd like to be able to use the mode button on the steering wheel to cycle through only those 3 options, but I usually end up reaching for the touch screen because it's quicker than going through so many different modes.
Can't seem to figure out how to do it. I'm thinking maybe I need to delete the app from my phone and do a system reset in the car but before I lose all my presets I figured I should ask...

I don't have an answer as I don't use the Toyota app. But this does bring up the question if the so can be disassembled and modified? Maybe to load other functions not currently promoted like Google Maps?? Hmmmmmmm.... Makes me wonder

I'm assuming you would need a third party software/firmware. Those apps are on there for a reason... Marketing.
Think of it like this: your standard smartphone comes loaded with an operating system. On some phones you can load different software but this requires you to make changes to the system. Some allow it and some don't. Example: Nexus phone and Apple phones, open vs proprietary source.
Entune is not open source so there is no way to change the code unless Toyota released the source code. And if they did, you would need someone to change that code and allow you to do so. Which probably wouldn't happen because there is not enough interest in it.
Not trying to ramble, just trying to give you a better picture. Hope this helps.

It's pretty obvious why they are there. I just want to remove them from the mode buttons loop of presets. I'm going to try a system reset and delete entune account.

Doesnt matter what you do they cannot be deleted. Only way to remove them is to replace the hardware with mother option allowing you full control over the deck. That is what the previous response was alluding to. That you cannot change it onl someone with access to the source code could and toyota hasn't released it nor will they allow it. So in turn unless you replace the unit your stuck with it.

I'd assume a factory reset should work since the Iheart/Pandora icons did not show up on mine until I activated & sync'd the Entune Plus app.

This is what I did to mine to get it to stop cycling through those features. Deleted my entire account and performed a factory reset.

Well I'm glad you were wrong. As noted in other posts, if you do a factory reset and delete Entune from your phone and your web account they go away. If I would have realized this in the beginning, I would never have enabled Entune or put the app on my phone.
So happy to have them gone. Now I just need to reprogram my presets and we're all set.

Worked like a charm. Can't believe I waited this long to do it. As long as you don't mind re-programing your GPS bookmarks and radio presets it's totally worth it.

Well I am taken back. Did not think for a minute that they would allow those to even come off of the screen. Interesting. The bigest issue with Proprietary items is that they are usually closed and unable to change things around an exception would be the apple ios. I find it appalling at how far we have come with integration with our mobile devices yet can't have a car enetertainment, mobile computer, navigation, center with a 1/4 of the capability and less than that in the term of immersion into the interface. I am very interested to see what the future holds when companies like apple get more into the integration with manufacturers. A point that boggles my mind is why Korean vehicle manufacturers do not leverage the technology out of their country and other manufacturers to put something onto the market that gives them a special niche and drive at least one area of it.

It is shocking how few options you have, even in expensive luxury cars. The systems are just way too locked down. I'm not sure if it's because of federal regulations or concerns about hacking the software or what, but it is ridiculous given what kind of customization we can have on our smart phones and tablets.
And judging by the lag in the system, there can't be much of a processor in the head unit. It's slow as molasses.

Worked for me too! The Entune apps are over hyped.
Before I hit the reset, I took a picture of my radio preset to help set them faster. Didn't have much programmed into the navigation, so setting my home address was all I needed to add back.

How did you guys "reset" the radio? Is it a sequence of physical buttons on the radio that need to be pressed, or is it an option somewhere on the settings menu?
I searched the forum, and Googled some sort of tutorial on this, but nothing. I've already deleted my Entune Apps account, and removed the app from my phone. Just missing on how to reset the radio.
Thanks in advance!

It's crazy to me that in 2017 we can just have a screen to mirror our phones? Our phones these days do everything we need. The closet they have is Android and Apple auto even those are extremely locked down.
