2018 Rumor
I just talked to the local dealer and the rumor is the 2018 4Runner will look a lot like the Toyota Prado that you can get overseas. Looks like the Lexus GX460.

As far as more legitimate speculation goes, there's a good chance the next-gen runner will get Toyota's upcoming 8 speed transmission, perhaps even the 10 speed.
Toyota reveals next-generation engines, transmissions and hybrid systems
But who knows, will probably keep making the 5th gen forever.

I heard that the 2018 TRD Pro is going to have a specially tuned stage 7 ICON 6" lift and have 35" BFG KO2's stock.
