Wait for BFG KM3 or go Falken Wildpeak MT?
Has anyone had any real hands on experience with the Falken's new MT tires? From some online reviews they seem to say it is a good balance for on road and off road performance. I will be 80% on road and 20% off road most of the time.
No idea when the KM3s are ever going to come out. its begining to seem like an unicorn that will never make it to market. Was only holding off for it because of such high praises people have for the KO2s.
Any opinions are welcome.
Falken Wildpeak MT
BFG KM3

I had Falken A/Ts on my Tundra and thought they rode incredibly hard. They did wear like iron. FWIW they were E-rated. I didn't put them on my 4Runner if that says anything. I know your looking at the M/T but thought I would throw this out there.

Hard to go wrong with the KM2, if you're looking for a street friendly mud terrain.

I am not a fan of the Falken, but if you're looking for a nice "mud terrain" I would check out the Goodyear MTR's. Not sure I would hold my breath on the KM3's, unless this is a long winded decision and you have the time to wait. Just my. 02!

How you liking it so far?
To all: I am considering these two because I like the aggressive side wall look. Originally I was contemplating the Toyo Open Country MT but with the way $CAD is right now those are ridiculously priced. Over $550 per tire...

They're great so far. Good wet weather performance and super smooth and impossibly quiet. Holy shit they're quiet.
Only have 700m on them so far and I'm really pleased. They're super heavy just like the Toyos and made in Taiwan tho

Made in Taiwan is still really good quality. Will take that over made in China any day. Thanks for your feedback.

Duratracs all day. Awesome tread pattern, great performance in all conditions, and not very loud on asphalt like straight mud tires. Can't go wrong

If you ignore the super shitty and weak sidewall they're great.
My KM2's sucked and KO2's suck, so I'll probably stay away from BFG for good.
I've heard good things about the Fallen M/T in rocks, however I do hear they're pretty soft, aka wear out quickly.
My personal choice is the Goodyear MTR. There isn't a better tire out there. I drive about 20,000 miles a year on mine and they've never let me down.

apparently we missed the memo and yesterday was monsoon season. the 15th was 30 degrees, yesterday was 60, and then the cold front moved in and it dropped from 60 to 22 degrees in a matter of 4 hours.
needless to say, the storm was ridiculous - and i drove through it. the Falkens are excellent it wet weather. They're no wet weather tailored road tire, but they worked really really well for a mud terrain. I hit several bits of standing water that with my generals normally would have been a hell of a fight to keep from hydroplaning out of control, and the falkens cut right through them.
impressed so far
