I have no problem being a glamper. I've offroaded several 19' travel trailers, there's plenty to choose from, great basecamps. I don't dick around with canvas setups and teardowns in bad weather. Wake up in the morning on a queen bed, furnace going, hit the inside toilet, cook breakfast inside.

I always laugh when I see travelogues by RTT folks, they never mention getting out of the RTT to do body functions in the middle of the night in rain or snow. I see plenty of group camp RTT travelogues with 4-5 vehicles and 15 people out in the boonies. So each morning they have 10-15 people dropping a deuce, digging a cat hole.

this is why I am a fair weather RTT camper. getting out in bad weather is a downside to them. its not as bad though as a ground tent

Would you prefer they include those details in the videos?

Anyway, having had to do that more times than I care to recount, I still prefer digging a hole over pooping in an MRE bag and packing it.

Additionally, that's definitely the less glamorous aspect presented from those 'influencers'. Even with fancy Bumper Dumpers and bucket-based portable toilets, I think that's comparatively worse than hole digging when one has to carry around a poop bucket everywhere.

It took how many seasons of 24 before they finally showed Jack Bauer dropping a deuce? Apparently people want to know that sort of stuff.

Right?! Haha

And yeah I get it, we all do it so it shouldn't be surprising it's not shown, but then again there are people who are into that sort of thing so maybe they should be catered to?

if anyone is looking for a cheaper alternative to the yeti coolers. I bought a coleman Xtreme and very pleased with it. I couldn't justify the cost of a yeti so I gave this one a try. we packed it full of ice and drove from Denver to Grand Junction (about 4hours) stayed the night. Then next morning we drove to Moab where it was 90f. the cooler was left in the car all day while we hiked. the cooler kept the ice the whole the time. even with our frequent trips to get water and snacks out of it. they claim 5 days, we got about 3 days in extreme temps before we had to put more ice in it. I bet we could have gotten 4 in normal cooler temps.

I got the 70q version which is pretty large. takes up a bit of room in the back but holds a lot more food for the multi day trips.

It does not come with a food tray which is disappointing. as the ice starts to melt some of the containers get water in them. I have done some checking and it looks like this one will fit. I will wait and order for next summer

I have one of these coolers. It's probably one of the best buys for the money. I picked up the Coleman 62 quart Xtreme cooler. I froze about 10 little water bottles, added more beer and other liquids than I could drink, more food than I could eat and about 3 bags of ice. I am usually out for 3/5 days max before I am heading home, or if not, throwing some ice in to top it off.

t does a good job of keeping the ice from melting while keeping things cold. That, and there is plenty of room.

I just took another 4 day trip and only put ice in it once. we didn't do a good job filling it before leaving on the trip so it melted a little faster than expected. food was still cold the whole trip and even put a room temp 1 gallon water jug in it that got cold pretty quickly. the extra bag of ice was to be super safe since we had a lot of meat in it.

one thing I do not like, the handles are so noisy. I need to get something to line them with or a pad on the side where they hit

You don't have to be a member of the NRA to know you should probably boycott Yeti anyway, especially if you're a firearms owner.

NRA doesn't need discounts for members. They're not military veterans, first responders, or anyone special.

NRA is getting new mansions while gun rights are getting worse...but on top of that, why did people sign up to support the NRA? Help gun rights or get discounts? Discounts were just a perk, but since you got stripped of discounts you're crying? Can definitely see why the NRA is failing, more concentrated on discounts and mansions.
