Understanding Diagrams at partsouq.com

Some time ago member BlackWorksInc pointed to a parts web site known as

http://www.partsouq.com

Parts diagrams for many makes/models. I have found it to be quite useful. I get more detail from it than many of the diagrams shown by Toyota dealers selling parts on the web.

Refer to the following URL - 2014 4R - 4.0L engine. The drivers side of cylinder block is what I will be referencing. Engine diagram on right side of screen; parts on the left.

https://partsouq.com/en/catalog/genu...ZU5JR8E5073127

Towards the bottom of the engine diagram you'll see parts numbers 11415/11415A - engine coolant drain plug/cock.

Just above these 2 parts numbers, I see the following:

( -1203)

Does the dash(-) mean the part was eliminated from this side of the engine and does the 1203 refer to either a yr/month or month/yr when the part was eliminated, assuming this is what the dash means?

At the top of the diagram you will see the coolant drain plugs for the passenger side of the engine. I do not see this ( -1203) designation for those parts on that side of the engine.

Thanks.

Update:

Refer to post above - see the diagram at partouq.com - 2014 4R engine block.

In the diagram - just above the -> ( -1203) notation - is an arrow pointing at part number 11432A. The actual Toyota part number is on the left side of screen - 90345-52001 - a plug. The drivers side engine coolant drain plug with the integrated drain spout like you see in the diagram on the passenger side of engine - parts 11415/11415A - was eliminated in March of 2012 and replaced with plug 11432A.

There is no longer a way to"neatly" drain engine coolant from the drivers side of engine on 5th Gen 4Runners with the 1GR-FE engine made after March 2012. WEB research shows this occurred as well in the RAV4 and Prius line - likely others as well.

Interestingly enough - my 2015 Tacoma PreRunner 1GR-FE retained the drivers side engine coolant drain plug with integrated drain spout - allowing for a clean and a complete drain of coolant on that side of the engine.

I was using the 2010 FSM for guidance - provided in this forum by another member. The engine coolant drain plug with integrated drain spout was still in use at that time. This 2010 FSM indicates the cooling system holds 11.1 qts. I drained the coolant in the overflow reservoir and from the radiator as well as the passenger side engine coolant drain plug. A total of 8.5 qts. of coolant was captured.

So - if/when you decide to change you own 5th Gen 4R coolant and are using this forums 2010 FSM as a guide - beware.
