We don't really mess around on the trail, in fact I eat better off road than at home sometimes.

I'm a huge dutch oven fan, he he he dutch oven. Any who, heavy but the results are great. sliced onions and whole garlic gloves with a fat tri tip on top, cooked for 30-45 min. man oh man, those onions and garlic just fell apart in your mouth.

Also good for a cobbler. Heck, we made pizza in the dutch ovens too, thats a treat on the trail.

Really anything that can be cooked in one pot is the goal.

I feel that the handle is so complicated on this. They hay a pan that is just a simple wire that folds and I wish they made that for this set.

What’s your thoughts on the handle?

Last camping trip in late July. Utilized my skottle grill, a cheap disposable grill and a Coleman butane stove. Since we lug so much gear during our glamping trips might as well bring nothing but fresh ingredients. Does the work and everybody eats well.

I like stupid simple, minimal cleanup.
Cast iron skillet for fire + steaks most of the time--mushrooms and onions first if you wanna be fancy
Probably causes cancer, but I also like New England Clam Chowder from Campbells--pop the lid and throw into a fire.
Breakfasts are eggs, garlic bread and sausage
Frequently bring the naan from costco and a tub of hummus

Mostly cooking direct on fire and cast iron
On longer road trips if I travel solo, I will stop by creeks/dams/canals and just set up my MSR pocket rocket an do a quick steak road-side.

The handle works great. In fact my only complaint is that there aren’t two in the kit!

+1 On the Bugaboo, I have the base camper set which just has the pots and skillet, a small fold-out grill, and a cast iron skillet in a plastic storage bin along with seasoning, utensils, and cleanup stuff that I can grab and throw in the truck at a moment's notice without having to worry about forgetting anything. I try to make one-pot meals if possible, but having this setup has me covered for whatever I want to make.

This is just some of my camp kitchen setup.
Got this at REI on sale. Also turns in to a table.

Carry dry goods, utensils, and paper stuff for when water is low. Also an iron skillet because it’s a cast iron skillet.

The bugaboo camp set.

Misc seasonings that work with everything and some Pam.

It has a wet pocket side just for dish stuff.

Griddle fits perfect in the front pocket. Plus a deck of cards and some hand sanitizer. Also keep Clorox disinfectant wipes. And a couple flashlights.

All packed up. We will throw in some other random dry stuff and lighter fluid and bug spray and sunscreen. Of course quick snacks are in a bag in the front seat. This setup has been working out great for me for years. If I packed it smarter I could probably fit my Coleman triton stove on top. But we are spoiled with all the room in the 4R so that is in its own bag.

I noticed that too which kind of sucks. I might just have to try this. I wish the wall was higher on the pan as well. I dont care for plastic cups and what not as we usually bring out own. Washing is a pain on the trail so we just bring disposable plates.

I like how the lids for the pots can be used as strainers. great for veggie and pasta.

+1 on the cast iron. yeah i know its heavy but damn does it get the job done. actually only skillets i have at home. ditched the fancy high prices shit years ago.

for 1 meal before i leave i'll dice up some chicken breasts, green/red peppers and red onion. some times i'll add grape tomatoes. throw it in a zip lock and drench it in pesto to marinate. few stainless steel kabob skewers and your ready to make your kabob as soon as the fire is lit. little to no cleanup as well

We keep it simple and traditional. Bacon/eggs for breakfast. Typical sandwiches for lunch. Hobo dinners. Then at times, I break out the Dutch oven for cobbler or rolls.

But my favorite to this day is casting a line and frying up some fresh caught fish.

Be careful with the non stick, in have found that it comes off pretty easy and it can't be good for you
