Funny I came across this, I'm about to start a series on my YouTube channel and blog about camp cooking.

I have found that the staples are dehydrated mash potatoes, canned beans, and shells and cheese! For meats I always have chicken, i prefer boneless skinless thighs and sometimes steak. I have found that soft shell tortilla are far better to bring instead of bread and you can use them for the same as bread and more. Lots of wraps, and tacos to reduce the amount of clean up since they only require 1 hand to eat. Subscribe to my channel, I will start the camp cooking videos within a month. www.youtube.com/c/sirwilliamadams

I like to premake breakfast burritos and wrap them in tin foil for breakfast, sandwiches for lunch and smoked sausage or bbq chicken with sides for dinner. Typically I eat better while on the road/trail than at home.

ok, now, I'm definitely hungry. I'm really jealous when I see such images, I mean, I don't have so much time and desire to cook something special for myself. There are days when I cook something, but it's usually because of my boyfriend who loves when I cook him. On the daily basis I use Panini Press Grill by Aicok, which I've purchased thanks to the wellfed blog. I make some sandwiches and rush to my workplace. Besides, sandwiches are extremely good). I was at a crossroads when I was planning to buy a panini press. There are so many models and brands available that it's too easy to get confused. The only thing which helped me was this blog. If you have some doubts while making choice regarding kitchen appliances or foodstuff, it's for you, you can find more info here.

I precook my eggs and place it in a ziplock bag. Eggs + extra virgin olive oil, salt/pepper, green onions, dried shallots. I just eat them up with rice or veggies and I'm eating in no time. I hate dealing with cooking fresh eggs.

I smoke ribs, pork, brisket, and chicken on my Big Green Egg, then shred and vacuum seal the results into flat portions sized for what they'll be used for - half racks of ribs per bag, a cup or two of pulled pork per bag, etc.... I freeze these portions and pull out whatever I need for trips.

I also vacuum seal and freeze curry, beans, meatballs, stews, etc...

To heat, just drop unopened bag in a pot of water, bring to serving temp, serve with fresh ingredients, and use the hot/boiling water for what you'd normally use hot water for - coffee, tea, dishes, water bottles...

You can buy by the pound and just cook it up in a pan add some avocados and tortillas, pretty good and easy.Always scramble eggs at home and put them in a water bottle, same goes for pancake mix

I enjoy camp cooking so maybe we do a bit more than “normal” but I like to think it earns a little good karma when I cook for the camp crew. My staples are bacon and egg burritos with hot sauce for breakfast. Lunch is typically skipped or snacked through if we’re on the trial. Sometimes I’ll smoke some pork or brisket beforehand to take as good tasty snacks. Dinner staples are steak fajitas in a caste iron skillet. Carrot, potato, and chicken hobo meals, “pizza bowl” which is basically quinoa, ground beef or turkey, onions, tomato paste, peppers, and mozzarella in a cast iron or Dutch oven. I do lots of tacos and stuff too. Most trips consist on some previously smoked meat. Last trip with did pork loin stuffed with jalapeño and cream cheese with some veggies. Was a big hit.

It would help to know if how long you were gong for -- sorry if i missed that detail somewhere -- and if you have a fridge. The fridge makes all the difference in the world.

Something I learned a long time ago is that if you're going far off for a while, taking frozen food in a fridge will keep this extra cool as it thaws. Coming from a bike packing/adventuring climbing background -- the dehydrator became my best friend. I have dehydrated and later hydrated everything from jerkys to pasta sauces and eggs. It's amazing what a little garlic, oil, salt and pepper can add for flavor. Throw a little tobasco or sriracha on there and boom -- you can't go wrong.

The foil wraps are an incredible way to cook stuff simply and with very little cleanup. Toss some fish, veggies, lemon, garlic, and a little oil in a foil envelope. Seal and on any heat source from camp stove to camp fire -- and a little while later (time depends on the fish/thickness/etc.) -- something delicious appears. Virtually no clean up besides the foil in your trash bag.

I also used to go rafting with my parents when i was a teenager. I recently relived that experience with my girlfriend and i almost cried because i missed them so much. They also taught me cooking in the woods. I still to this day own the knives my mom gifted me when i got into gooking myself.

a bit lazier than most of you...;-p

Maybe we're just lazy but by the time we stop for the day the last thing we want to do is make a big production of meals...We're "Mountain House" brand dehydrated food fans...
1/2-3/4 cup of boiling water and 8-10 mins later a hearty, filling meal in a bowl...good variety of meals so not boring...
For warm/hot meals on the road we have a 12v slow cooker about the size of a small loaf of bread...prep a few large potatoes with butter, seasonings etc wrap in foil and by the time we're ready for a driver change/break the smell lets us know its ready...especially nice when cold/snowing...we've done cans of stew/soup and the like...

I typically keep it pretty simple with things like chicken breasts, carne asada, hot dogs, hamburgers, bacon, sausage, pancake batter in a bottle (those "add water & shake) n stuff like that.

Now if we're doing a special event or something, i'll bring my portable pellet smoker and my generator then smoke up stuff like multiple tri tips, whole chickens, and stuff like that.

Most my trips are only 2 or 3 days though, so for the sake of capacity and cook time. Just stick with simple foods that are still delicious.

The possibilities are honestly limitless lol
