New Rav4

Looks like the new Rav4 is out. The adventure trim looks pretty similar to the concept crossover that was out not long ago. It has multi-terrain select. I think it looks pretty good, what do you all think?

Here is a link to the concept for reference. Doesn't have all the cool features but the general shape is the same.

Not bad.

Also, holy crap, Toyota has suddenly started making good interiors?

My feelings are mixed...

I do like it but it does not look off road capable. I could be wrong but it looks like dirt roads at best.

My future dilemma is that my 03 4R is not getting any younger. I would love another 4th gen but the head gaskets scare me. The 5th gens are still out of reach of me and my wallet.

I really want something with decent off road capability. I do not exactly wheel anything too crazy but I am often on logging roads and skidder trails. I do not think the Rav 4 would quite cut it.

I hate to see BOF disappearing the way it is. I am open to the idea of another brand but I do not like it.

It's a Subaru fighter at best.

Probably a good preview of the styling on the next 4Runner?

Not bad overall, but the plastic fender flares are hideous. Ruins the look of the car.

I see alot of Subaru Outback coming though in the adventure model. I'm pretty sure this is the demographic they're going after with this one.

I think the unpainted fender flares look pretty good and add some contrast.

Agree that the interior looks very impressive.

The rear view mirror is actually an LCD screen and there is an exterior camera dedicated to it. I wonder how that will work in actual use (especially at night). This is probably going to be a trend we'll see on many vehicles now.....but I'm not sure why a simple mirror doesn't do the job.

Lots of similarities to the subaru outback. Even the front grill is very similar.

Overall, I like it. I think this will give those who are considering both the CRV and Rav4 an option to stay in that realm while having something more off-road "worthy."

I wish they hadn't slanted the back so much. One of the benefits of the current body shape is that you get a bit more room in the cargo b/c the slope is steeper.

Go for a 2007-09 4runner and you won’t have to worry about the head gaskets.
