Link didn't work for me. Led me to this though: https://www.carcomplaints.com/news/2...ame-rust.shtml

Man I'm hoping something comes through on this. Apart from the frame rust, my '03 could easily last another 10-15 years.

Any idea what this could mean? Would the compensate or fix anything? What is a realistic expectation for an outcome? I have never heard of anything like this before with any other vehicle. Thanks!

It really is sad that there has been recalls on Tacos, Tundras, and Sequoias for the same problems, but they are not addressing the 4Runners.

3 models from the same manufacturer, you’d think they’d be more inclined to look at their whole line-up as this is/could be a very serious issue for those affected by it.

Glad I don’t have to worry about this, but I am hopeful they will bring some good news for those that have been!

very interesting. even though my frame is in great condition for a 2004 - i heard you get a lot more than just the frame with the toyota frame recalls - i hope this goes through. i do think it seems odd they did it for the tacomas and tundra but not the 4runner. my dad got the new frame on his tundra back in the day.

The article says they are looking at 2002-2006 model years. Do they mean production years? Otherwise, my 2007 is left out

Would definitely be interested in getting the frame of my truck touched up. It needs some love.

I believe the frames you mentioned were sourced from a US Supplier, as oppose to the 4Runner frame being sourced overseas... --> is my guess.

Hmmm I wonder if ill have to cut my sliders off, or buy new ones.

Some piece of shit technician stripped out a couple of the captive nuts holding my skid plates on.

I wonder if they would reinstall my arb bumper.

I guess ill wait on running 35s and the body mount chop until there is a solid answer for this.

I wonder what this would mean for those of you with a chopped cross member for your rear bumpers. Would you guys even consider a frame swap? Seems like it might be a pain in the butt to redo all the mods, I can drill out a captive nut and tack a new one in.

I find this very interesting! I doubt it'll come to anything useful though. I know somebody who had a frame replacement done on his Tacoma when Toyota offered it some years ago, and he has been very happy ever since. Fingers crossed here! I wouldn't be interested in a buy-back, but a frame replacement would be awesome.
