2019 Nightshade in White- what am I missing?

Just went down to the local dealer to check pricing on left over 18’s and the salesman of course started pushing the 19’s on me.

They had a 2019 Nightshade in White that was actually pretty sweet. Then I saw the 49k sticker price. What exactly am I missing on this that warrants the sticker price? Nice ride but that seems crazy to me.

The one option it has that I’d imagine would interest some is the retractable running boards. But as someone that would put sliders on my rig, it’s pointless for me.

Also, a question I forgot to ask but wondering if anyone knows- can you get KDSS w XREAS or is that a one of the other type thing?

kdss is only available on the Trail/ Off Road 5th gens. Only the limited comes with xreas and although it handles better when turning at speed, a pro or aftermarket suspension will be better over rough terrain.

If you are thinking sliders and plan to mod, the Off Road or Offroad premium is your best bet. if you have the $ and only plan to add on armor, then go with a pro.

you can swap out the xreas for an aftermarket suspension, but that is a messy pita ad the xreas is expensive.

You can't get KDSS and XREAS together.

You have to ask yourself what you plan on doing with your vehicle. IF you plan on doing some off pavement exploring, a trail/TRD OR w/kdss is a great vehicle to do it in (and it has a rear locker).

If you rarely go offloading, and want a extremely capable / all weather condition vehicle, the limited is really hard to beat (although I'd get rid of those tires).

They're giving us a black chrome package with other blacked out trim. I think it looks good. Just not $47K good.

Lack of competition I suppose. Say I get sick and tired of all the rattles in my rattlebox and decide to trade it in. What's there to upgrade to? I'm kinda coming up blank. Maybe the new Defender, once it shows up?

I love Defenders. But the one that shows up in the states probably won't be anything like the 90s. Just look at their lineup now. I wouldn't be interested in anything other than the Disco. You can't beat the combination of reliability, capability, and price the 4Runner offers. Toyota is milking the 5th gen run to buy time until the 6th gen arrives....

I bought my White Nightshade 4Runner two weeks ago and the sticker was $49,094. After negotiations, I walked out at $44,820k w/ TTL and 3M Paint Protection.
