Top speed in trd pro

Recently purchased a 2019 trd Pro and love it although wish it had a little more pick up. I daily drive it and mostly highway driving. Mostly drive around 70-73 miles per hour on avg on highway.

Edit: how fast have you driven your trd pro?

Too much variables to answer.

You know its a silly questions and don't want wise responses?

There is such a thing as a dumb question. Don't believe when people tell you there isn't.

So this might seem strange, but when I hit 88 MPH, I saw a bright light and then all of a sudden I was surrounded by 1980's era vehicles... Turns out, it was 1989... My friends in 2019 said all they saw were flaming tire tracks after I vanished.

Once I determined I was in 1989, I immediately called Toyota... They sent a man named Tatsuro right over from Japan. He said, "This will change everything..." He gave me a number to call when I got back to 2019. Weird.

I came back with a brand new 1989 4Runner... It was slow, had no tech, however it only had 6 miles on it... I think it was worth a fortune.

So I called the number and received a recorded message... all it said was, "Expect big things to come from Toyota starting in 2020, then more in 2023..."

Just then, my door bell rang. It was a Japanese man named Akio... he took the 1989 4Runner and gave me a 2019 4Runner with a cloaking device. It's sweet, but doesn't show up in pictures.

It was quite an adventure.

"Pick up" generally refers to rate of acceleration.

Top speed isn't going to affect "pick up"

The top speed is higher than you would ever need to drive a 4Runner. Higher than you could hit in a 1/4 mile pass on a sanctioned race track. Probably higher than the point where your taint starts to tingle because the front end is trying to float away from the earth.

If you want better "pick up" and have a money tree growing in your yard, there are at least two well-renowned supercharger options for the 4Runner.

Deflate your tires to exactly 6 psi...that way, you're lower to the ground with less wind resistance. You go faster.

You're welcome.

I don't have a Pro, I have a TRDOR. Car and Driver says max speed is governor-limited at 114 mph, but that has nothing to do with acceleration, as mentioned before. However, as others have said, these aren't made for speed. Over 90 is idiotic in my book. In my opinion, it accelerates fine (C/D says 0-60 in 7.5 as they measured, which isn't horrible). I play around at trying to keep the Eco light on unless someone is behind me, so my accelerating is tame. Averaging 20.8 mpg though.
