Used parts source
Are there any quality used parts sources out there online that you guys use? Been thinking about trying to acquire some spare parts and some used parts to fix some of my trucks issues.
4x4 spindles
All the weather stripping for all 4 doors and hatch
Front and rear drive shaft
Emblems
Transmission pan
Etc etc
I’ve thought about trying to find a part out truck but I’m not sure I want to go that route and deal with getting rid of it once I get what I wanted

A Junkyard? Thats where i've found a lot of my weatherstripping along with a bunch of other parts. If not some junkyards will ship parts. Plus if you cant find anything local thats what the forum is for! Good luck with your search!

I can’t seem to ever find time to go to any local pick a parts or junk yards. Work, toddler, teenager, wife ya know all the things that take 90% of my time

I have had good luck with LKQ online. Their prices are reasonable for mail-order used parts, you can see photos of the donor vehicle, and in the few cases where I was not happy with the quality of the part (labeled Grade A, but looked worse) they refunded my payment (no questions asked), and let me keep the part.

On CL I always seem to find plenty of guys parting out 3rd gens. But I'm in the northeast salt belt and reason for part out is usually rusted out rigs from neglect of rust prevention. In fact I know a guy in Rhode Island that chops up rusted out Tacomas and 4runners for parts to load containers to send to Guatemala. He's mostly shipping out drivetrain stuff.

Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market is still good. Use it to find a junkyard that likely has your parts and call them up directly...

These are you 2 best options.
PNW 4Runner Connection
Josh and crew at PNW 4Runner Connection know their 4runners. They have almost anything you need to rebuild your 4runner. I have bought from Josh several times and would buy again.
The 4runner House | Garland TX
4RunnerHouse is 4 miles from me. Joey is a super nice guy and has a bunch of cool 4runner projects going. He has even hand delivered parts to my house, and sponsored our car show.

Just saw this guy on Facebook too. Have never dealt with him though.

Wondering if anyone has grabbed window (not windshield) gaskets or rubber moulding from a salvage yard and if so, was it worth the trouble? Thanks -
