Ok, Long story short, researched a lot to keep the interior of my sedan down because my lithium battery generator (flexopower 444) doesn't like high heat (which is odd for a South African product aimed at overlanders...) anyway, came across this thing: Cool Cap Heat Blocking Car Covers and bought it for my sedan and the damn thing works!
My black Accord in the Eastern Sierra sun could get up to 150 degrees plus but when I put this ugly ass thing on it, it rarely gets to 100 degrees inside (I did lower the windows a bit). So now I am planning on getting this guys tarp and just tossing it over the back of my 4Runner and see if it works. And of course, since it's October... I'll probably wait until spring to order it.
All that to say, if the sun never hits the surface of the car, it will be MUCH cooler inside. After all, beer is fragile.

Those covers look like they would do the job....BUT they are sold out of all sizes except the 2 smaller ones, wonder if and when they will have the other sizes back in stock??
