Help needed with Super White paint for 2014
Hi there,
I was hit by a truck a few weeks ago. I need a new front panel. The issue I am having is the paint. So everything I read on here, the Taco and Tundra forums all say the Super White is a single stage paint (clear coat is mixed in). People have said they have letters and emails from Toyota stating the fact. I have someone from a Tundra forum saying in 2015 they changed the formulation as there were so many complaints so it's not single stage any more.
I am not changing bodyshops, this is the second one I am at and he is willing to do what is needed but he doesn't think it can be single stage, he called the Toyota Palo Alto stealership and they told him it is not single stage and it does have clear coat on top.
I am losing my frickin mind at this point. I have emailed Toyota USA with this question but not heard back yet.
I am not one to keep the truck shiny and clean but I will never sell this vehicle and 5-10 years from now if there is no clear coat but the replacement panel is clear coated I have a feeling they will look different and that will be a dripping tap for me.
Does anyone have any documentation from Toyota on exactly what the 2014 was painted with beyond 0040 which is on the door frame?.
I would greatly appreciate your help.
Cheers
