AFtermarket body panel question

My 2004 got caught in a hail storm...bummer. the hood, roof and driver side has damage. They totalled it, but i bought it back because it ran great, and I took really good care of it.
I need a new hood, the rest of the stuff i can deal with. Problem is...these cars are too darn good, very few parts cars around. None of my local salvage yards have a clean hood...I dont want to have to do body work on a replacement hood. they couldn't even locate one and the ones I found on craigslist were in another state.
So, I had a guy look at painting the car and he said, use an aftermarket hood, I thought there were fitment problems with aftermarket. He said they're a lot better today.
My question is, has anyone had good luck with aftermarket sheetmetal parts like hood.fenders from any particular source? Thanks, B from NC

I had to have my rear bumper replaced, and the only option was aftermarket. I was told Toyota simply didn't make it anymore. I wouldn't worry too much about it, just make sure there are some agreements about the finished work. You have the right to refusal, basically. Hope that helps some. Cheers

Body shops generally know which a/m vendors they have the fewest problems with so I would check with them on which vendor they suggest. You can have them test fit it before they paint the panel and return it if it's not up to your standards. CAPA certified panels generally have fewer fitment issues. Keystone/LKQ Corp is one of the larger vendors in your area but I would see who the shop suggests first.
