Harbor Freight Roof rack

150 Lb. Capacity Roof-Mounted Steel Cargo Carrier

Not the one made out of hitch cargo racks.

Harbor Freight Tools Coupon Database - Free coupons, 25 percent off coupons, toolbox coupons - 150 LB. ROOF CARGO CARRIER

$59.99 with coupon. At that price, you could buy two and just use the center piece/extension to make a longer rack.

I googled and have been unable to find any reviews, vids, or pics of them on 4Runners. I think they're too new.

Anyone have any experience with em?

I bought one and set it up for my 2nd gen 4R. I can fit a fuel can, water jug and cooler on it. Good quality and value for the price. Easy to remove and install to the factory rack.

Do you think Curt or some other commonly available brand extensions would work on it?

i saw the dimensions online, but i could not tell if it was the top or bottom dimensions. Cause the top opening is slightly smaller.

Also do you know if standard hooks for straps fit around the upper tube? My rola upper tube is so big it doesnt allow for it and sucks.

I don’t know if a Curt extension will fit. Area is not an issue for me, the 2ng gen factory rack is rated for 100lbs. The Harbor Freight rack weighs 27lbs and with 5gal of fuel and 5gal of water I am already maxed out by weight.

The upper bars are 1” diameter and the lower cross bars are 1/2” and my strap hooks do not fit the upper bar. I made and attached a plywood base and bolted down my Wavian mount and added tie down rings to strap down the water jug and cooler.
