Hard to get excited about much that offers the looks and reliability of the 4Runner. Not sure what out there has both? I also have a bias toward Toyota due to the last 6.5 years driving my 4Runner but the Highlander is kinda... boring, and the Sequoia is a dinosaur. Honestly, all else considered, I will be taking a serious look at the new Tahoe’s/Yukon’s that come out next year. I don’t mind the new Expeditions either. Having said all of that, those vehicles are overkill for my purposes (and more likely to be unreliable) so I’m really hoping Toyota gives us a redesign sooner than later on the 4Runner.

2022 is said to be the year for the redesign but who knows. They sell so well, why mess with it? We also have no idea what we'll get with the redesign. Let's hope not the 3.5 like the Tacoma got which was a massive mistake.

It’s just for someone like me who may want to trade in for a new one..... aside from a different front grill, safety sense, and a different looking instrument cluster, it’s the exact same dang truck that I drive now 7 years later (and I purchased mine 3 years into the current generation). I am not in a hurry but if 2022 did hold true, I am not sure if I would wait another 3 years unless we received early info with something to look forward to.

If they keep the same aggressive look of the 5th gen and add a V8 option to the 6th gen, I would be all over it.

I have / had one. I LOVED it for commuting. 30mpg, super comfy. I had the FCA lifetime unlimited warranty. When I retired, the wife commaderd the Grand Cherokee, I bought the 4Ruuner. Jeep Grand Cherokee was a limited 2wd.

Side note: if I had to do a thousand mile road trip (all pavement), I'd pick the Jeep, now if there was any off road, 4Runner wins hands down.

I guess I HAVE to drive this since I just bought it. Still got the 4R Trail but trying to decide what to do with it. This is my 8th Jeep, 4th Wrangler, etc. so it just feels right to be back in a Jeep.

I would more than likely be in a Sequoia. Even though I have a 03 Tahoe, I would NOT own a newer one. The newer Expeditions are inciting to me but not enough to buy one. Yes it would get better MPG's than the Sequoia and has newer tech but I know deep down inside the quality just isnt there.

Which is why I wouldn't own another Jeep/Chrysler product...with that said I'm still waiting for the new Bronco and depending on what it has I may be looking at one of those after they are out for a year or two.

Other than those there are really no other SUV's that do anything for me.other than dream machines like a Lambo or Benz G-Wagon lol.

My next rig might be a G-Wagen, but since I'll own my Runner for ten years, I have lots of time to save my pennies. Else I'd love to do a ground up on an FJ-60, with a V-8 and totally kitted out. Probably cheaper than the MB now that I think of it.

When i was looking for my 4R (I always wanted one)
I was not finding anything in decent shape, at a decent price. (go figure)
So my PLAN B was a Pathfinder.

When this one finally rusts beyond repair,
I will look at them first.

But I am also considering a Highlander, now that they are beefier. (I tow a trailer)
I guess it really depends on what is available at that moment.

Patrol version Armada. Aim for most recent years. Used ones can be had for a song. Always had a thing for the Patrol.
