Sequoia's are good for hauling people and taking you to state park campgrounds, that's about it. Otherwise it's sheer size, IRS and lack of any type of aftermarket support is prohibitive.
Well, I don't drive a Pro and I don't want to slander it or offend anyone who loves theirs (because it is a great truck) but a Pro isn't any more a trail machine than the other 4R trims, if adequately outfitted.

The Sequoia does several things well--chiefly taking kids to soccer practice, getting groceries, going hunting at deer camp on the weekends. The Sequoia Pro is a fine choice to upgrade your rig to do what you want better. In that regard I don't see the Pro offering any changes to the basic Sequoia setup any more than the 4R Pro changes what the 4R can do.

It's not my LE can carry more groceries than a Pro because it's an LE.

Why is Toyota even still building this thing? They can't be selling very many of them. It's old as dirt and ugly. It's been dated looking for almost a decade, and most of it's competitors have gone through 2 or 3 generations in the time this thing has been hanging on. Shoot, for 2020 they should be releasing the FOURTH Gen Seqouia by now, not making mild updates to the 2nd gen.

Even the guys on the Sequoia Off Road FB group don't seem to be too excited about this.

IMO the 1st gen is much better. More interior space, the exterior has aged much better (except for the awkward face all Toyota truck of that era had), and is more capable offroad because they do not have the IRS. ONLY thing I would want from the 2nd gen in the first is the 5.7. Unfortunately the 1st gen only had the 4.7.

The return on investment for off-road R&D just isn’t there. 95%+ of the people that buy an off-road vehicle never take it truly off-road.

I’m at a point in my life that my next 4Runner will probably be a limited. I really don’t do anything anymore to justify what the TRD Pro or the ORP give me. Honestly, 90% of the places I went over the years a Limited could have taken me with ease.

I agree, the LC is FAR better than a Suquoia, make the LC more affordable.....I'd give a kidney for a LC.
