I don't drive a lot and pure gas 91 octane is only $.30 more per gallon. So I use 91 octane pure gas exclusively.

I got 20.9 Hwy MPGs a couple weeks ago. I get 17.5 mpg around town.

I support Corn Growers but do not like ethanol in my gas!

But yes, 4runners can run up to 15% ethanol with out harm.
Wait till they go to the 20% year round blend.

Some may not believe it, but modern cars are designed to run on the 10% ethanol.

Non-Ethanol was introduced in my area about 2-3 years ago. Yep - the lawn mower loved it.

I ran several tanks of the Non-Ethanol in my '15 4.0L 1GR-FE Tacoma and "felt" no difference and realized no better mpg.

I would not be surprised that it helps older carb-equipped muscle cars, but for todays vehicle, I think some are swallowing a placebo.

If it makes you happy and your wallet can take it, use the stuff.

Too bad cars can't talk.

Cars can talk. I drive 80 miles round trip on my commute, all highway. I filled the truck with 93 non-ethanol and got 19.2 mpg. Reset the dash, filled with 93 regular, and got 18.6 mpg. Yes, you can tune to get most out of the shit gas, but the engine internals definitely prefer the good stuff.

Maybe the 93 non-ethanol helped. In my area we have Murphy 87 non-ethanol.

In my area, Utah, regular is 85 octane, because of high altitude, and 87 is midgrade. Local Maveriks sell 88 octane ethanol-free for about $0.10 higher than midgrade. With that low of a cost difference, I am tempted to just use ethanol-free as much as possible, if there's no negatives and only positives to it. I seem to be doing better on mpg on the non-ethanol, but that may just be hopeful bias. How much does the 5th gen care about ethanol in gasoline? I was surprised to see how loudly the gas cap states NO E20 FUEL. This being a 20 year old engine design, was it designed before ethanol started appearing in fuels? If I'm taking this engine 250,000 miles, does it matter either way?

Ethanol has about 33% less energy content than gasoline. A 15% dilution of gas with ethanol would mean about 5% less mpg than with pure gas, at any pump octane. So, a car getting 20mpg on gas should get about 19mpg on the 15% blend.

E-85, which is 85% ethanol, yields a reduction in mpg of about 28%.

I haven't seen the exorbitant price difference between gas and E-15. Whenever the pure gas is available I buy it... for all the reasons others have pointed out about the misuse and misleading logic of corn.

I do try to use pure gas though it is even in 87, slightly more expensive than 91 here in Colorado. 91 pure it is quite a bit more but the gas station is somewhat far away or I'd use that. We have cut down on driving quite a bit due to no work commutes anymore, so the economics are not a huge deal.
