Best Time To Buy Winch
Does anybody know of any good deals, what's the best time of the year to buy a winch? Looking at Warn or Comeup. Something with a wireless remote would be nice, and relatively compact to fit into my smaller bumper.

If you can wait until Black Friday, I’m sure at least a few places will have deals. Seems to me to be the best time of year for anything, from car parts to appliances.

I think I remember Expediton One had 20% off maybe a couple years ago for Black Friday, and I about bought one of their ComeUps then.
But yeah, I'll probably wait until BF.

Best time to buy would be before you get stuck for the first time not after.

I'm too late then.
I usually bum my brother's winch but figured I should get one before the Rubicon trip next year.

I just bought a winch on Labor Day through Morris 4x4 via Google Shopping. It was a Smittybilt 9.5k synthetic winch for $315.99 all in.

There's no rhyme or reason I can understand to ebay's discounts, but when they're running a 10% off everything sale - that's about as good as it gets usually. My current winch was from Amazon and the prices just fluctuate over time. FWIW I paid $500 for a superwinch talon 9500 synthetic. Right now they're about $900. I'd just randomly check back for a good price.

As Dillusion said: buy it before you need it.
Of course that can be too late: I wouldn't fret about the price of a winch if you know you're going to need it. Buy it, mount it, forget it.... until you're stuck and need it, then you won't care if you saved a few $$s or not.

find several you're interested in, and stick them in your amazon cart. check back often for notifications on a price change.
im with jetboy, I haven't found any reason for the price structure, or when it changes.

You should check Main Line Overland today, they are doing 20% off for some of COMEUP models.

They seem to be the same price as everywhere else, but thanks.

I was going to give a smart a$$ comment and say “the best time to buy a winch is before you need it”, but I see someone already beat me to it.
Depending on what you want… You can hold out for some end of year deals like BF or Xmass sales, but I do see positive things about the Harbor Freight Badland units. Perhaps with one of these 20-25% off coupons that come around often it might be worth it.
