I regret letting my first vehicle go, 1956 F100.
Now I have the opportunity to buy another. Oe even better, a 56 panel truck.
I'm just too worn to tackle another fabrication project.

I certainly hear you there. This last week of tuneups for this truck has certainly worn me down. At least I can sleep better now having verified that everything inside and underneath is in good shape

If you have time though, in my opinion maintaining vehicles in the evenings and on weekends is really a great satisfying way to spend your time. Obviously getting a lemon is not fun, but simple maintenance and upgrades are extremely mentally satisfying to me.

Finished off the tune up with the plugs this morning. Feels good to get all that done! She puuuuurrrrrs quite nice now.

Thinking about letting the dealership do the tranny fluid. Looks like a major PITA to get a 100% fluid swap in the garage.

In a perfect world we'd have one of each.

FWIW I just traded my 2011 T4R for a 2020 T4R. All the bells and whistles are nice but they are a confusing a hell to try and navigate while you are driving.

The biggest upgrade from my 2011 is memory seats (limited) with cooling. Also the BT streaming seems to be more stable, the 2011 would get confused all the time.

The big tickets (from what I can can tell) between the 19 and 20 is the
TSS - Garbage
LDA - Garbage
Radar Cruise Control - Useful but a weird, you need to trust it - which I don't.
Larger touch screen - Looks nice but the SW is still Garbage.

So in the end if the 18 or 19 will work and you will be happy with it, take the deal.

I also suspect that the 6th gen 4runner will be a hybrid, cause Toyota trucks MPGs suck. JMHO.

You could get the new Bronco too. It's all the rage in the Toyota Forums.

Few additional items to consider:

1. interest rates are going to very low for at least another two, likely three to four years.
2. Car brands and dealers are going to be desperate in 2021 and 2022to move vehicles
3. That's Subaru will keep a high resale value and used cars will get in more demand as less new vehicles are sold bringing back in less trade ins to resell.

So all told, the deal you'd get in 2021 and 2022 will likely be very similar to now. in my opinion, the odds are favorable that you can get a better deal in 2021 on that 4Runner than today. If the total $ aren't better in '21, I bet it's surely no more than 2% more than what you'd get today.
