Payload

I have a question about payload and what everyone is carring on their rigs. With a max payload of 1700 lbs for some years of 4Runners and 1500 for others. How much do all of the Accessories weigh?

For the outside, This would include everything on the outside and inside of the rigs. IE: Bumpers, Roof Racks And anything you put on the racks, RTT, Tire Carriers, Tires, Ladders, Lights and anything else.

For the inside, Anything you have on a slideout. Bed/Sleeper, Refrigerator/Cooler, Spear Battery, Radios/ Navigation, Gear etc.

Are our 4Runners maxed out for the payload rating?

Might want to clarify what you are actually looking to have answered..
This is a subjective question as not everyone runs the same accessories/mods.
Many of the accessories like bumpers/racks etc have options for steel or aluminum which makes a huge difference. Some rigs have just front/rear upgrades, some just go with a rack or sliders and others go all around, including skids and a gourmet kitchen setup.
Really depends what you are doing with the vehicle.
Typically most people running aftermarket applications upgrade their suspension setup first, which negates the recommended payload. There are also various performance mods to supplement the added weight.

Makes sense! I was just wondering and looking into what the 4Runner can carry Vs. say like a 1/2 ton pickup truck. They seem to be about the same so my question is answered. I did not think of the suspension upgrades to accommodate such.
My Bad!!

I hauled over 2000 lbs of pavers and sand inside my T4R and it handled it fine.
Granted it was only about 10 miles.
This is combined with my mods that probably weight under 300 lbs
