Tough question…

I am dealing with customers in a technical sales roll. I liaison between the design engineers, project managers/engineers, installers, and manufacturing vendors. Having polished diplomatic communication skills appears to be more important than just being right. It’s something worth continually striving to improve.

Even if you know the answer/solution, it is often times better to lead someone to the answer and let them own it, vs telling someone what to do right out of the gate. It’s challenging and time consuming, but the end result tend to be better.

In a management/leadership role, or any team environment for that matter:
Use “WE” instead of “I”
Use “OUR” instead of “MY”

Same here! The worst part is when you drive on roads you designed and you notice every little thing you did wrong.

I have a BS in Mechanical Engineering. I do heavy haul and lifting. I won't get anymore specific than that. But in a nut shell, I specialize in moving any object no matte how big and getting it from point A to point B.

On a daily basis, I do equipment calcs, and book equipment and come up with how we are going to move something, and interact with the client for jobs such as Jack & slide, Gantry work, using our specialized rigging to lift stuff, sizing up our cranes for a lift, and doing alot of transport stuff over the road (Like bigg big superloads, this stuff you typically won't see because we move at night), I go out and measure road widths and all the turns and make sure we can fit and what has to be moved. The longest route I did was over 600 miles.

I do weld calc's from time to time.

My job is always different every day. I love it.
