Squealing brakes

I have a question for all of you that have had a T4R for a long time. Ours is new this year and only has 3500 miles on it. When I first start it and drive a short distance the brakes really squeal when I come to a stop. Never had this on any of our other cars. Is this just a product of the brake pads Toyota uses? Once it has gone a quarter to half mile it goes away. Not overly concerned, just curious.

That’s how you know they’re OEM parts.

Dealership

Go back to the dealership service and tell them that you don't want that particular option and just see the look on their faces.

I'd give it a few months and if it's still there go talk to the dealer. They can fix it. Even if it means new brakes. They shouldn't make noise.

It's vibration between the back of the pad and the piston, usually. So some high temp RTV (rubber) on the back of the pads usually quiets them. The harmonics when the brakes are cold, combined with a bit of overnight rust may cause it. But I would certainly complain. Usually easily fixed. I find that the oriental vehicles skimp on lube in many places. So it could be a lack of lube on the caliper pins, causing a real un-even wear problem. The pads used now have more metal in them than they used to, also contributes. So take it back and tell them to fix it. Then break in the new pads properly, and don't abuse your brakes.

Ahhh makes sense. I could do that but it is definitely under warranty so I'll take in for a look see. Thanks all for the responses.

Looks like maybe Turkey/Syria/Iraq? Kinda hard to make out from this map.
