These are from my 2015 at under 50k miles. Yes, it's vastly better than a Land Rover. But WTF is up with Toyota putting such poor quality rust protection into these? It's not rocket science how to prevent rust. It's a choice not to. The threads literally rusted away. In 5 years.

That's what I've experienced so far though my timeline is much shorter ('16 TE purchased new June '17) with more miles upfront (over 86K miles). The brakes have been replaced most frequently due to my SPIRITED driving. It will be interesting to see how the salt treats my Runner over the tenure of my ownership.

You guys must live in a different part of the rust belt than I do, because here absolutely everything rusts to shit within 5-10 years, maybe in other states they use salt that specifically targets Toyota’s

Toyota’s here seem to hold up pretty well, the worst being Ford and dodge
