Complaints about the 4runner

I've been driving a stock 1968 F100 since I got it from my Grandpa in 1986. He was the original owner. I'm the 2nd owner.
A couple weeks ago I bought a 2017 SR5.
Complaints I read about on this forum that I don't have, after driving the old pickup.
- Headlights. My only issue is they're aimed too high. Quick fix.
- Acceleration. F100 has the stock (recently rebuilt) 240ci straight six. The 4runner accelerates fine.
- Brakes. Been living with 4 wheel drum brakes (no power assist) for 38 years. 4runner brakes are fine.
There is nothing I don't like about my 4runner.
"This is my 4runner! There are many like it, but this one is mine! Without me, my 4runner is nothing! Without my 4runner, I am nothing!"
I am seriously liking this vehicle.
Really like this forum too.

Hang on to that classic old F100! Gotta admit, when I read the subject and that you were driving a '68 Ford pickup, my first thought was, "He's not going to have ANY complaints about any 4Runner!". Way back in the 70's we had an old '68 Ford pickup on the farm - I wish I still had it!
Enjoy your new rig!

Well that's not really a fair comparison LOL

If you were comparing a modern SUV to the 4runner. Acceleration and brakes may very well be a valid complaint.

Toyotas are huge pieces of junk, you better get rid of it before it kills you, I had my entire transmission fall out on the highway and it even turned me gay for a little while. Just scrap it while you still can

It's a 4runner. I think most folks on here understand. To want to improve something or want something that's not available on a 4runner is only human nature. I like my 3rd Gen have owned it for 19 years but I also bought 5th Gen cause I like to tow with it and wanted a 3rd row seat but wished it came with a rear locker. I even tried to order one with a 3rd row and rear locker to no avail. I still don't understand why Toyota doesn't have an option for 3rd row and rear locker. Even though aTrac is immensely capable but a locker is a walker which makes it almost unstoppable.

With the purchase of the 4runner, we now have four vehicles (plus some street bikes and a quad).
There are 4 adults in our household, 3 drive.
This last week my Wifes 07 Ram was in the shop. The 05 Magnum needs the transmission rebuilt, but still drivable.
So that left the 4runner and my 68 as the reliable transportation.
I drove the 68 to work, lol.
