I will be using steel, not aluminum. I'd like to get the most complete coverage that is practical.
I see some offerings have the panels fit flush, end to end. Others have one panel tucked under the one in front of it. Ridges around standard bolts, button head bolts...
So many choices.
I see package deals for buying front/transmission/transfer case together.
I'm considering replacing front skid first, then fuel tank skid. Then working my way back.
It came with nerf/step (Nfab) that will be replaced with sliders.
So what is the recommendation from those that have scrapes on their skids?
Thanks in advance.

I went with RCI full package + gas tank and lower links. Got them with a great discount through a forum group buy here. Don't pay full price for your skids. No matter the choice they should be easy to install and recommend doing that so you know how to access what's behind them in case of a trail repair.
Respect the choice of steel, I went with alum as my 4runner is my DD and wanted to save on weight.
I've come down hard on rock points, used the skids to slide down embankments etc and they have held up well. If the alum ones are this sturdy the steel ones must be beasts.
Might want to look at sliders first before getting all the skids. The stock skids held up ok when I just had sliders.
Have fun!!
