Disappointed in the C4 Ladder...

... So much so that I likely will NOT be ordering their front and rear bumper (as intended in the coming days).

FYSA- I ordered their new ladder (with step and rotopax accessories) a few weeks ago. Finally got the time to put in together and installed before tomorrow's scheduled Knik Glacier run. However, upon trying to put it together I've noticed several QC issues:

1. Missing hardware: couple step bolts, several washers.

2. The main braces were drilled out by a third grader: chunks taken out, several not smooth.

3. The main braces were dented and chipped in a couple areas. I'm assuming this happened in shipping as the large side braces were NOT wrapped together as the small braces were. However, the third grader who drilled these might have decided to have a sword fight with them before they were boxed for shipping.

4. The step's rubber gaskets (which IS a really great design) were cut all catty whompus. This isn't too much of a big deal as I was able to cut 3 of 4 of them with a new straight edge. However, one was cut from the factory too short to allow me to take any off...

5. Several of the steps need their holes redrilled a/o tapped.

Some of these issues may not even be that big of a deal, but when you spend nearly $600 on a ladder it SHOULD come ready to bolt together... We shouldn't have to fab our ladder that was already "fabbed".

I'm now going to get ready to go the hardware store 25 minutes away in hopes they have the hardware I need to complete this ladder.

That stinks. It's never fun when you want to trust a company new to you and they screw it up right out of the gate.

Did you try to contact C4?

Personally, I'd call them and insist they sent replacement hardware via next day air/priority mail before installing ramshackle components.

I would like to say it’s awesome you worked catty whampus into your post.
Hope you get your ladder situation settled.

They were closed by the time I noticed this last night. I'll be calling Monday for sure. I was missing a few more pieces than originally thought.

On a plus note, the glacier run we did today was awesome even without the ladder 👍🏾
