? about running boards.

Just purchased a 2020 4runner, but don't really care for the running boards. I find it difficult to get in and out of the Runner without rubbing one of my legs on the running board. It was a $600 option too. Damn. Anyway, I'm no mechanic, so anybody how difficult is it to remove the running boards? What tools? Thanks.

Its super easy… just poke your head under the truck and take a look.

All you need is a wrench and the appropriately sized socket… I forgot the size but I think it was either 12mm or 14mm.

With an electric tool it literally takes no more than 5 min per side and you can do it yourself.

Assuming the 5th is same as a 4th gen, it was 6 bolt per side and should look something like this.
