I am actually quite annoyed that I have an 8 model year old vehicle that was already in its 3rd model year when I bought it new... and I can only trade it in for the exact same truck today. Infotainment upgrades and lipstick don’t cut it. I would half consider it if they at least upgraded the power train.
At this point I am actually strongly considering a Highlander or perhaps do the unthinkable and go to GM for the new Yukon/Tahoe. The V8 is a pig but the diesel could be an option.
The social media comments on this reveal says it all. Toyota made hay with the 4Runner but too many of these buyers will be lured away by more modern options... sounds like the same goes for the Tundra too.

You 'aint kidding. The entire truck industry is up for a shake up in 2021. Tesla, Bollinger, Rivian, and soon.......the Ford F150 electric. Tons of modern goodies, fantastic specs on road and off, (e.g 4 second 0-60 times), and significantly reduction in cost to own. Mileage being the biggest drawback but quickly receding. Even (gag) the hummer now.
Even purists must give attention to these, and I would hesitate to drop $45-60+ on a new truck/suv given what is coming out in just a year or two.
