Couple questions from a new guy

Hi everyone first thread!

I test drove a 2014 SR5 at a toyota dealership couple days ago and noticed under heavier acceleration there was an almost supercharger like whine . I haven't drove any other ones yet so not sure of that's normal or something is going.

Also i realized a 7 seater has reduced cargo place when seats are folded DOWN - floor had to be raised to make the folded seats look flat. Loosing 4-5 in across the floor. Since i would need the max cargo space i would need a 5 seater . After some research i found out that trail and TRD models are 5 seaters as well as random limited models.

So is there any specific models or years to look out for?

Pa looking as mainly 2015 to 2017 models

The 3rd row is an option and you can find all trims with only two rows, but only a handful of trim levels where the 3rd row is an option.

My '14 Trail has that whine in higher rpms too. I assume it's normal, but can't tell you what/why it makes that noise. This 4.0 just doesn't seem to like being wound up, at least it doesn't sound happy. That said, I've not had any issues in 6 years of ownership, but by Toyota standards mine isn't even broken in yet with only 47,000 miles.

Thanks guys! I actually thought the whine at higher revs was kinda nice just wanted to make sure they all do that.

Here in Canada its actually much harder to find a 5 seater than a 7 seater for some reason.
