Have no idea who you're referring to re: love letters. Seems silly.
Likewise here many people will blindly trust the scientist who appears to be spinning swine flu one way, and the new coronavirus another way perhaps for political convenience. At least up until today that is, where he's changed his tune on the coronavirus - a convenient shift in the winds lol.

The good Dr however appears to be slow walking that. But, I don't know how that all works. Maybe you or others know more about it.

Hopefully some one with more knowledge would chime in because I don't know.

Still waiting for acceptable loss numbers. Was it worth crippling the world economy to crush your political enemy... I mean a really bad upper respiratory infection?

Fixed your post for you.
Which political enemy are you referring to - the one in Italy, Spain, the rest of Europe? Iran? the rest of the world?
Did you ever stop and re-read your post to see how stupid you sound?

Post like these have made me really see how stupid our society has become. People like you either lack basic reading comprehension or are just to stupid to understand what the facts are.
Fact is that the mortality rate is around 1%. Equivalent to the H1N1. If anything the mortality rate is much lower due to the people already suspected to have it or have had it and weren't tested. SARS had a much higher death rate than the corona virus. Thankfully we didnt have social media for people like you.

Must be the media panic setting in, but maybe we can nuke 4 or 5 major metro areas to help contain the virus.

What I do know is that I've spoken to several COVID-19 patients and the stories have ranged from "bad cold" to "awful flu" to "worst pain I've eve had and wouldn't want my worst enemy to go though this".
As emergency managers and first responders, we need to always plan for the worst and take measures early to slow the spread. At the end of the day you may not know what worked - the social distancing or the normal process of the virus' mutation.
What we do know, is that highly congested areas are hit far harder that remote areas.
I thought long and hard if I should post this and finally figured that a bit of humor couldn't help - regardless of what side of the aisle you are on.

Yet i provided the foundation for it. You can run from it, hide from it, but it’s there in case you change your mind and want to learn.

I've seen anywhere up to 2.2 million.

...only when he says something that is controversial. In this case, there was no immediate 'I was joking', only later when pressed his people say 'You can't take some things he says literally'. He's done this little trick over and over. He's not trustworthy. He also claimed that he knew a lot about viruses. My ass.
This is why I'll take Fauci's word over anyone on that podium.

Do that if you want... but I'll take my medical advice from experts on YouTube. Now I'm off to take my colloidal silver.

Trying To Be Level-Headed About This
There seem to be some folks on here who are certain that the measures being taken are inappropriate. We’re either over-reacting or under-reacting, depending on who’s talking. The doctors aren’t qualified, or they’re dishonest, or they’re political (a necessity, by the way), or you name it. Some think we’re being sold a bill of goods, and that an underlying agenda is at the heart of all this. Honestly, some seem to discount virtually everything that’s being done to slow the infection rate, as if they have better answers.
There are also some who appear to want to apply themselves to the efforts being taken and recommended. They seem to agree that, since there is a real problem that needs to be addressed, we all need to do our part. They place their trust in those appointed and elected to be at the front when serious things happen. I put myself in this group.
I’m not blind, and I get it that politics sometimes (often) plays too big a part in our lives. Heck, look at the crap that people had to force into the 2.2-trillion-dollar bill to get it to pass (almost). That is BS, but it’s also politics, and has happened for millennia. While I don’t like it, I’m wasting my breath to criticize it in the middle of the fight. That only serves to divide.
The people who are in positions of authority in this fight – Dr. Fauci, Dr. Birx, the President, governors, mayors, I can’t name them all – need to be trusted and heeded. Those people are smarter, more experienced, and wiser than many of us, and they’re in positions of influence. I’m fairly certain that not one of them is saying, “Oh goody – a brand-new pandemic to fight 24/7 for months!” Their lives were arguably much more peaceful than they are today. If I had to deal with some of the crap they have to put up with – politely, mind you – I would take immediate early retirement. I don’t need that s**t, and I’m sure they don’t either. Personally, I’m thankful that they’re slugging this out.
I’m an older-school-of-thought type of person. The way I see things, a unified population is what’s needed when there’s a war going on. At its best, complaining during the battle only serves to demoralize the hearers, even if just a little. The complainers are doing their own side a disservice. They certainly aren’t helping to win the fight.
One thing that some people seem to miss is that this is the FIRST TIME we’ve encountered this specific disease. As a result, NOTHING was in place to fight it when it broke out. We’re trying to develop responses now, but as far as I know, we’ve yet to find a cure for even one virus. In light of that, it’s best to give everyone a lot of mercy and grace right now, and assume they’re trying to do the right thing.
