I believe that the best thing that will come out of this will be competition for Jeep. The new Grenadier will have an impact too. It'll be interesting to see how it all unfolds.

If it's the same Hemi as they're currently putting in other vehicles, I wouldn't touch that with a 10 foot pole. Have you seen about the lubrication issues?

I think Ford is nailing it with the Bronco.
Features, Aftermarket Equipment, Swag, maps/club/etc.
Great job.
If they can just nail the reliability.
Jeeps are already pretty cool... but I have no faith in them as a daily driver.
Can Ford do better?

I think it looks pretty sweet.. and very capable on paper. My wife gave me permission to buy a 1st gen Bronco someday. Emphasis on "someday"

It looks like a shortened raptor with more "stuff". I bet the decked out Full Monty version will be at least $75K. Then add in dealer markup and stuff it will top $80K-$100K depending on the zipcode. It just takes one Kardashian to drive one.
Personally, I like it and think it's a good idea and it will compete against the Wrangler well. However, when it comes down to banging it on rocks, the Wrangler is the only one with a solid axle and short wheel base. On the other hand it will probably go over anything that I'm willing to drive over. One last thing is that wranglers drive horrible! I've only driven a few but they all felt like it was going to swap ends on me.
When comparing to a T4R or Taco it seems's a bit chubby, but better equipped. Mileage and power are better but doesn't have Toyota reliability. . . which is sinking fast because of the electronics. From what I see these days most Toyota's are going Overlanding (fancy word for car camping).
In the end it seems somewhere between off roading, overlander, and desert racer. It might end up with and identity crisis.

It's definitely interesting. I'll be keeping my eye on the Bronco brand over the next few years. That 10 speed automatic might be a concern, though. The 5th gen's 5 speed may be kind of low, but it's less complicated and probably more bulletproof because of that. If they offer other automatic options, I'd be less worried.

The new Bronco will be made to compete with the Wrangler and as such, it will be designed for weekend trips to Costco for buyers that want to be able to remove their roof and accessorize their vehicle for social media posts. I’ll take my 4R and the reliability it affords.

You're fooling yourself if you don't think that's what the majority of 5th Gen 4runner owner's do. 4runner has been majority soccer mom driven for a long time. Doesn't mean they're not capable and don't get modded heavily by those of us that are into that, but the majority are still just used for light off-roading, overlanding, and car camping on the occasional weekend. The new Bronco will be exactly that vehicle for a lot of people, but with more features available from the factory, cool retro design, flashy colors, and removable doors and roof. I think it's going to make a decent sized impact on Toyota's sales if the 6th Gen doesn't show some innovation.

I'm not exactly sure what a 6th Gen 4R could bring to the table to compete with that. I do know that Toyota is too conservative to go as far as Ford has with the Bronco. Toyota's will have to rely on reliability to move 4R's at this point.
