Houston/Galveston Area Groups

To start, I searched the forum and found an answer to my question but I wanted to ask anyway since the other threads appear dead. Are there any “active” 4Runner groups in the Houston/Galveston area? I’m in League City and would like to find others that actually want to go on rides. I’d like to do the Lost Highway 87 run but not to thrilled about the idea of going it alone after watching a couple of the videos on YouTube. All I need is to get stuck before high tide with no help.

Invest in good recovery gear and know how to use it and try to wheel alone. If unsure then go around is my motto.

I don’t think learning how to use it while potentially dealing with the incoming tide while alone is a great idea.
