Amsoil 110....140 Gear Oil.
Other than Cost and MPG is there any Negative or Detrimental by using these weights?

Probably would work - but why? For most people there's no reason to ever change the diff oil. And if you do using the correct oil will save a decent amount of money on fuel over the life of the diff oil.

If you want to waste money - do something fun like burning it or go gambling. This is wasting money for the sake of wasting money with no benefit.

I did my rear differential last year in my 2005 4runner (120,00 miles).

I did my rear differential last year in my 2005 4runner (120,000 miles). Took 20 minutes. three quarts of Valvoline 80/90 nonsynthetic.

One drain plug. One fill plug. No mess.

Will do again in 5 to 7 years.

To answer your question directly: nothing bad will happen. Unless maybe you are in a super cold environment like northern Canada or Alaska.

The thinner oil does make for better mpg but IIRC the thicker oil may have been the original spec.
