Bad driver tried to crash me
Everyone is fine, but frustrated that some people feel that it's OK to be and A@@&$*.
Some people need public shaming. Enjoy and feel free to comment on his very poor driving style. His license plate is 6DGP307 BMW X1.
YouTube
This activated the TSS, which mostly beeped at me after I was on the brakes. Good to know that it's paying attention and letting me know I might crash.

Just another shit day commuting in Cali.
Lately I just hang out in the right lane and creep at 55-60 because I'm getting sick of the jackasses street racing at 100mph and CHP not doing anything about it.

I do the same thing. Once you decide you don't care that everyone is going faster than you, the stress melts away and you get to observe the idiots.

Agreed. Had a Corvette come up on me in the "slow" lane at 90mph entering the highway and flipped me off for going 70 .... and there were 2 cars in front of me and a 18 wheeler. Can't go much faster than the dudes in front of me.
These idiots only look at the vehicle immediately in front of them, no road awareness or thinking about 100 yards or more down the road.
Good job on the brakes and glad you're safe.

It’s a free for all and it’s happening on all sorts of roads here. On the slow speed mountainous roads to the coast they race at high speeds and pass on curves. In the last month I’ve seen 3 post-collision scenes of cars after losing control around curves and hitting trees or embankments. And some bmw dickhead passed me going downhill on a blind curve and nearly wiped out a motorcycle coming at us in the opposite direction. I only see CHP or county cops at the accident scenes.

I'm an OTR truck driver. I spend my time compensating for everyone else's bad driving. Even other trucks.
I am a professional driver and I take pride in my craft. Something that is old-fashioned and nearly nonexistent anymore. In any profession.

Thank you for that.
I wonder why driving behavior has gotten so bad over recent years. Driver education being eliminated from high schools, parents paying for their kids cars and insurance, movies glorifying high speed street chases, video games? Me getting older?

This is why I got the dash cam for idiots like that.
My real concern is the morons racing motorcycles. No offense intended to any motorcycle drivers.
I've had them split lanes between me and a semi. I'm doing 70 MPH and they are way into the triple digits. I have no problem with triple digits nor splitting lanes and it doesn't bother me if they want to kill themselves either, but I really don't want to be a part of that.
If they ever bounce off my car, I want the dash cam to be my witness.

I respect and appreciate truckers, and always have. I try to be one of the good guys - maybe I learned courtesy growing up. For example, people getting onto the freeway ramp behind a truck typically will jump left two lanes immediately at the end of the on-ramp to get around the truck. I just hang behind, and if it's safe, will ease left so the trucker can see me, and flash him onto the freeway. I've never driven a big rig, but I can imagine it's a PITA with all the other cars zipping around.

Guy just being an A*hole. I hate that 87/85 interchange, everyone always smashes through the onramps and cuts you off last minute. I installed a basic dashcam on my rig last week just to catch idiots like this. What sucks, is if you end up hitting that guy, you're almost 90% at fault without proof. Another good reason to get a dashcam.
Back in the day, some lady driving a stick shift wasnt paying attention at an incline on a red light. She was slowly rolling backwards, as I kept honking I could see her looking at me in the rear view mirror. Bam! We pull over and she asks me why I hit her! . I fight it, but I was still at fault, because she was supposedly "rear ended". Oh, how I wanted to put the hurt on that lady.
I always drive the speed limit, my work truck has gps and I get in trouble if I speed, so im used to it. I see a lot of Taco guys usually flying and tailing people, tbh.
Having full armor, wouldn't be smart for someone to be brake checking like that. Could do some serious damage. I guess it's time for you to get a new offroad bumper!!. Haha.

If I was in my Taco
A. He wouldn't have done that, because he would probably think I don't have insurance.
B. I would have collected his ass, because it stops 60-0 in like a mile.
The only thing I can think of is it's a 2020 with the dealer plates still on it. So I'm guessing he just wanted to be "that guy". I had similar experiences driving my (former) Audi. People would drive up along side me and just flip me off when I'm driving 40 mph in a 40 zone, in my lane, just driving. Nothing's going on, but they feel like then need to tell me something? WTF? Seriously? Maybe I don't understand what's going on?
I hate to sound like a curmudgeon old man but people, but these guys are just lacking simple manors. Right or wrong, if he did something that asinine and dangerous in person, there would have been a fight. He put my wife and myself in danger, as well as everybody else around there in danger. It's about the same as pushing me in to the street.
But he's in the car or on the internet or whatever gives him the idea that it's OK to be a dick.
My late father told me once that things like that were self correcting, because of a little thing called "street justice". You want to be a bully or a dick, go for it. You will likely get beaten silly and everyone would be OK with that. Simpler times I guess.

Agreed. The only positive out of this situation is that you and your wife are safe and you had self-control to not let your emotions take over. That's hard to do once in the moment.
I know you're probably still steaming over it, but try not to let it eat you up. Its stress you dont need especially with what's going on right now in the world.
There is A*holes everywhere, and we will occasionally run into them. I do believe in Karma, and I hear Karma is a b.....

Yeah. He got me and I should not have wasted the energy. Not enough to ram him, which was an option. Not a good option, but still viable. I have10 mins of that stupidity on video untill I finally got away from him. I think he actually gets off knowing that he's an a$$#:=÷. Doing stupid things to piss off others. Just lucky it was resolved by distance because that's how people get their lives ruined.
Unfortunately, it set the tone for my day.
It will come around to him eventually. He will brake check the wrong guy and end up in a really bad place. Either a hospital or hell. I'm good with either one.
