If its sad, happy, shocking, truthful, not so truthful and it catches my eye I'm post'n it. If it pops up on Google, its good enough for me. I dont get paid enough around here to fact check.

Ah yes, irresponsibility.

Because that's freedom.

It's experiences like these that are part of the reason for calls to defund the police.

IMO, police should operate like the fire department and only respond when called by community resource officers (similar to Alaskan villages where general law enforcement power is held by the community).

With this in mind, motor vehicle infractions should only be policed by State DMV representatives without arresting/search powers.

Well, if your veterans status has anything to do with you guys back and forth, I didn't see it in this thread. You seem to be the only one that brings it up.

There are small homogeneous towns that do have reactive police only. They are mostly small semi-rural or rural communities where the town is run by the people. Not a city.

Defunding police will result in more technology. But cameras and technology record crime and are evidence to a crime, where police presence deters crime. If you live in a city, you need feet on the street to deter crime otherwise people do what ever they want.

I live in San Jose CA with a population of 1M+. We have nearly 2x the people killed by vehicle than homicides. The reason being is they accidentally defended the SJPD a few years back. The mayor whacked the pension and they had a drain of talent. They have never caught up and may never catch up. As a result there is virtually zero traffic enforcement. It's street races every night and a tragedy when another teenager dies. The homicides are not random, usually domestic violence or drugs/gangs. But almost 1/2 the vehicle deaths are pedestrians and that's random.

BTW having lived in small towns, if the cops have a problem with you, they use all this stuff to harass you. Apparently being a teenager in a small town was a crime which I can attest to with two jaywalking tickets. The first one when I was 12 years old. A friend got arrested for riding a skateboard - Seriously. OK he is black too which didn't help. He was smart enough to keep his mouth shut and not get beaten, because it was common back then.

Larger cities do the same thing and use as an excuse to do a "dirtbag check" when some one does something stupid. The difference is they aren't interested in writing a ticket or arresting anyone. Just seeing what's going on. So your better off in the city.

Yes, that's why I said before it had been a repeated occurence. He attempted a personal attack as as means to discredit my statements; I am critical of the administration, therefore I must be a 'liberal' or 'hate America'. That, right there, is an attack on military service. That's the point I was making.

No. That is not an "attack on military service". Political disagreement is not an attack on anyones military service.
Maybe I've missed you twos comments in your beef, but so far the only thing I have seen is a back and forth over nonsense with your final fallback as if someone makes you butthurt, for some reason, it is an attack on your service. Being former military does not shield you from disagreement or prohibit offending your sensibilities.

This thread is hilarious. I follow Hard Times, and it is quality satire that has more of an edge to it than the Onion does anymore.

I'm forwarding this thread link to the Hard Times just to thank them for provoking a hilarious discussion.

The best part is that if you didn't know about Hard Times being a satire site, the article is entirely believable. That should tell you all you need to know about policing in this country.

Back to the question at hand, what would a T4R sticker on our trucks tell a cop? Not to pull us over because we're broke from mods we bought or mods we're saving up for. I once got pulled over in my 3rd gen (the incident that provoked me to get a dashcam so it wouldn't happen again) because a cop claimed I accelerated to 20 over the speed limit in my old 3rd gen. I started laughing and said "You really think I can go from 25-65 in this thing in less than a quarter mile?!". He didn't find it funny.

The only stickers I have are Trump stickers.. but when I drive to california, I change the sticker to a unicorn and rainbow sticker on one side, and a Bernie sticker on the other side. Hippies and lunatics don't touch the vehicle.

I think most cops support Trump. At least the ones I know. Most are in Cali too. The cop Union supports Biden, sort of a dilemma.

Meh. I mainly have some military morale stickers on mine mixed with fly fishing and silly T-Rex quotes.

I have never been pulled over for my stickers or suspicion of narcotics use due to them. I wonder if its because so many people have stickers on their cars here in CO?

My fave sticker is hidden tho
