Mounting kits needed for a Rhino Rack X-Tray

I have a Rhino Rack X-Tray small and don’t have the mounting kits for it. This isn’t a common item and has no part number. I emailed Rhino Rack 4 times and left voice mails. Finally after a couple weeks I got ahold of someone there and had to get back to me. Since it’s not a common item and they have to outsource them it is around $110 for them to order them in and ship to me.

They can’t do anything on the price since that’s “their cost for them”. I’m having a hard time justifying the price since I can get a whole basket kit for about that price or a bit more for a little better quality. They suggested calling dealers and installers to try and find if anyone had extra parts laying around. I haven’t had any luck yet. Does anyone by any chance have any or have any idea where I could go?

This will be for my Crosstrek and on the 4th gen 4Runner until I am able to spring for a full rack like a Victory or Prinsu. It has 5 parts for each kits. 2 bolts, 1 top piece, one that goes on bottom of rack with pad, and the one that receives the bolts with pad that goes over the bottom of rack.

Did you ever find another mounting kit that works with it? I just got the Xtray Pro Large and I have the Rhino Rack kit, but the bottom clamp is too tall for my factory 4Runner Crossbars and doesn't fit underneath — so I need another option. Thx

Those OEM crossbars are sort of trash in my opinion...
They are fairly flimsy and far too low for many accessory clamps.

Other than installing expensive aftermarket crossbars, I would suggest bringing the lower brackets to a local fab shop
(or even use an angle grinder if you're comfortable) and shorten the vertical portions. You may need to trim the bolts as well.
The assembly will still have plenty of strength and should give you the clearance you need.
