Safe bet. Anything close to crossover, SUV or truck will sell... unlike their cars, aside from the maybe the mustang or focus

Ford is making only two cars today - Mustang and Fusion. Just FYI.

What year is your Tacoma that had the early issues? Was it built in San Antonio or Tijuana? The 4Runners are thankfully still built in Japan.

This topic has been much discussed on the other forum I belong to which is dedicated to the fullsize Bronco..Initially there were a lot of haters on the new rendering, but I'd say they're starting to grow on people. Myself included.Ford has done a pretty masterful job on the marketing side and I'll give them credit as well for taking them out on the trail and beating the piss out of them..They come with a crap ton of cool features, but as it's a Ford, I'd question the long term reliabilty..

One on the Escalator, Moab.

2021 Ford Bronco Testing | Escalator at Hell's Revenge | Moab, Utah - YouTube

and Hells Revenge.

2021 Ford Bronco Testing | Hell's Revenge Part 1 | The Bronco Nation - YouTube

They're certainly not inexpensive, but that's pretty good offroad performance for something right out of the box and I bet it's going to take a bite from Jeep..the question is can the production keep up with the demand..for that we'll have to wait until next year to find out..

They built most of the early Tacoma's at the Nummi Plant in Fremont CA. Not sure about the other two. I still have my 2K and it's going strong. Not sure why you think the 4runner is better, they are both Toyota's?

yeah after they killed the Taurus last year those are all that's left..they just weren't selling enough cars for it to be cost effective to keep all the models..Ford makes it's $$ on trucks..

Made. In. Japan. Obviously that isn't to say that the Taco isn't a keeper (my dad bought is 2005 Taco Double Cab brand new and still has it with about 225K). Just added comfort that the 4Runner is made in its Motherland.

No worries. Living a few miles from there, everyone know what was made there. It's Tesla now. I know the motor came from Mexico and assembled in Fremont.

For US manufacturing you could tell on the early US/Canada Honda's from the door gaps. I never really noticed any issues with US assembled Toyotas.

The 4runner is a better daily driver for sure. I never even considered where it was made.

Don't get me wrong. i'm a Bronco guy, but the fanboy cult around the Bronco III is insane and i thought the Toyota fanboys had bunched up panties. The new bronco "owners " are fanatical and have not even seen or driven the thing. Love reading how everyone and their grandma is "building" a Bronco. They get upset when i point out, all they are doing is ording trim levels off a menu. They are building nothing.

Better be careful, you might hurt a Snowflake's feelings.

I like poking the bear. All you have to say to a new "Bronco owner" is nice jeep. Kind of like saying "but Toyota's don't break" to a yota fanboy.

“Jeeps are built, not bought” was a common saying when the Rubicon came out over 15 years ago. Look at Rubicon now...much loved by off-road enthusiasts (and mall crawlers).

IMHO, if i have the money, then i much rather buy a vehicle with parts that i want from factory, rather than spend on aftermarket. Factory warranty for all factory parts. Factory R&D and durability testing.

How many aftermarket vendors ACTUALLY tests the parts they sell for durability and safety?? Besides ARB and maybe King, i can’t think of one. Correct me if i am wrong.

For example, in 2020, Toyota made the Tacoma TRD PRO rims 5 lbs lighter each. Just because of that, Toyota re-tuned the TRD PRO FOX suspension to take advantage of that.

It is not unusual to see different shocks based on different tire size/package level for Toyota vehicles.

Here is a failure due to aftermarket crap: Toytec.. and My Pretty Much Catastrophic Shock Failure x2

Aftermarket vendors just don’t do much R&D...and then you have to find competent installer...and all that worries me when you take your rig to far off places and over unknown terrain.

I'm tracking, but buying and building is way different. Just like saying "I installed mods" when really paying someone else to do it for you. Its all splitting hairs, but when one actually builds something with their own blood sweat and tears, it means a whole lot more.
