1/2 shaft replacment

Full disclosure this is for a 2K Tacoma, not a 4runner. Sorry.

The CV boots are trashed. They blew out a while ago and my bad for not finding it. It's only a matter of time before CV joints go bad. So I'm thinking replace the whole thing.

I can buy OEM parts for $400/side (BAM Wholesale) or aftermarket/rebuild parts fro $100 (Rock Auto).

What's the quality of the Rock Auto stuff? Are some brands better than others. The last thing I want to do is take it apart twice.

I've been running a NAPA Maxdrive CV axle with the heavier duty boot for about 15k miles now on my driver side.
I will say it binds at full droop compared to my OEM passenger. Other than that, no issues in the highway/off-road miles I've put on it.

Hey OP,
You might want to check to see if they will fit your rig, but I have for sale RT and LT Factory Toyota complete shaft assemblies (brand new in box) for sale for $450.00 OBO. No clue if they'd fit your taco, just throwing it out there. Shafts are for a 5th Gen 4Runner.

Toyota has two different PNs for them. So I have no way to tell unless I pull then and compare. There are so many parameters it would be difficult to compare them correctly.

Thank you for the offer though.
