Has anyone done bed liner on the top side and rattle can on bottom side? First, I'm thinking of sandblasting then primer. Next, rattle can paint all surfaces. Lightly coat the footing/step area (top side only) with bed liner for grip over the paint. Finish with coating with the rattle can paint all surfaces for an even color. What do you guys think of this?
On my Wrangler bumpers I always did a primer coat before using a rattle can bed liner. Maybe professionally applied bed liners can go on bare metal? The idea of trapping any moisture under bed liner on bare metal seems like a disaster waiting to happen.
I have RSG sliders. I ordered them bare metal, and I coated them with POR-15 and Rhinoliner (only on the top). Visibly, it's not as nice as powdercoat, but the traction is wonderful, and I think they turned out great.
