I have already done the math and it would take SUSTAINED gas prices WELL into the double digits in order to make a comparable but efficient vehicle even worth it. Cost + insurance + annual taxes (if value is above $30k this can be significant).

But of course by the time this happened, fuel efficient vehicle prices will have skyrocketed and dealers would be tacking market adjustments on the everything that had the word “hybrid” on it.

Your ROI buying or leasing one to get a break in gas usage is very poor. It would take years before you'd actually see any savings vs keeping and driving what you have now.

I never pay attention to gas prices much. I fill the tank regardless.

With the Russians attacking Ukraine, California is approaching $8 per gallon gasoline. Already in LA and San Francisco it’s over $6 at some stations.

I only drive about 100 miles per week so, no, I wouldn't sell if gas prices hit $8 per gallon. I wish Joe Biden would allow drilling on public lands to increase supply here at home.

Short answer is no.

Thankfully our vehicles are paid off and we don’t drive much these days. Even at $8 a gallon, which is hard for me to imagine, I won’t sell what we own (2008 4runner SR5 4x4, 2014 4runner TEP, 2017 TRD Pro double cab Tundra). There’s really no electric vehicles out there that catch my interest, with possibly the exception of the BMW electric 5 series- mainly because it doesn’t look like an electric vehicle. I wouldn’t touch anything from E. Mush industries. The buy-in on these electric vehicles are so high it really makes the ROI not worth it.

Absolutely not!! Especially since I just recently picked up an 05 accent to use as my daily. Even without buying it I would still have the same answer.

Wow, lol, Slow Joe did just that.

The high cost of oil is a worldwide problem. Don’t blame Brandon for what OPEC does or doesn’t do.

His policies have a direct effect on production in the US. By canceling lease sales & limiting production, then asking OPEC to lower prices, he has directly influenced current oil/gas prices. OPEC is doing what they have always done, limit production to drive prices up to fleece the rest of the world when weak leaders are in charge or when the "next crisis" hits the Middle East.

We don't need OPEC, we where energy independent before #FJB put a stop to it.

You should probably get multiple news sources instead of just CNN so you can be better informed.
