Not sure about the cheapest, but the Sherpa, ESP with 15% off BF sale posted above, would be my recommendation. It'd be hard to beat a Crestone for under $800.

Added Sherpa and MyMedic. MyMedic is a solid deal for some quality kits.

RCI seems to be running a 15% off sale. Been a while since they've done anything.

Now I just need to decide, steel or aluminum for my skid plates xD

C4 fab told me they were doing 20% off for Black Friday

I’m waiting to see what CBI does, prefer their Baja covert bumper over the C4 but only slightly

I would say it depends on suspension and lift, in addition to use. The softer the suspension, the stronger the argument for steel, especially for the front skid. I would not want an aluminum front regardless and I have not felt the steel at all (I am all steel underneath) in any way, including mpg. In fact, my mpg is very close to stock even though the weight of the vehicle is about +300lb and then LTE tires on top of that (but my tires are stock size). But considering what my front 3/16 steel plate looks like, I would have had to replace an aluminum one already.

On a related note, looks like prices keep creeping up. Some simple rear bumpers have actually jumped quite a bit. Technically, overall inflation is very low, but you wouldn't know it if you are modding a 4Runner...especially when you account for the fact that discounts are smaller and less common.

Wait, so you'd say steel on a softer suspension? Why's that?

I've gone back and forth a few times. This is my first big weight addition other than LT E tires. That said, my other mod this winter will be a bumper/winch, so another 200 lbs, and I'd eventually like to put on a rear bumper...

Just feels like I should save weight where I can.

Aluminum prices at most places are a lot higher. I noticed SOS has quit offering an aluminum option on their website for their bumpers. It's too bad, I was thinking of going that way.

The general rule of thumb is for every 100lbs of weight decreases MPG by 1%. I went full aluminum armor because when the time ever comes I dent something I will go ahead and replace it. It also reduces my overall wear on the other components of the vehicle, which at some point will eat into the life components of the vehicle if you decide to add more and more weight. The odds of me needing full steel armor are rare in the event I bust something up, so I have no need for it. I think it overall depends on your needs but the full steel is not worth it for 90% of us. Save the weight, spend the extra money if there is an added costs and go aluminum.

On a side note, hopefully eBay does a $300 sale on the shittybuilt synthetic winches

So this isn't technically a Black Friday sale, but Jackery is doing their 8th Anniversary sale today through Wednesday.

https://www.jackery.com/pages/jackery-8th-anniversary

The rep who assisted with our last group buy was able to get forum members a discount code for an additional $10 off per order that contain an Explorer 500, Explorer 1000 or SolarSaga 100W panel. Just like a group buy, I can only share the code via PM. If interested, please send me a PM and I will do my best to respond in a timely manner.

Post if they do! That would be a fantastic deal...Though their X2o gen 2 winches actually look pretty great as well.

I wish EBay would do another one of their x% off coupons so I could grab the ebay bumper lol.

UpTop Overland is running a sale on their Alpha and Bravo roof racks. Price is lower than most of the other racks commonly promoted here. I'm partial to it as I bought one recently after spending months researching and looking at racks. Form and function I feel UpTop is up there with the best, but the price is low. Don't quote me but I "think" you can get one shipped for around $800

Because the softer the suspension, the more you will hit. People get all up about lifts but the reality is that the suspension is what causes so much hitting the front skid plate in addition to bottoming out front and rear. You should be fine with the Eibach springs and shocks though.

I really like where I am with lift--travel--protection (signature).

You will have to decide whether your desert speeds or rock trail frequencies (even if the rocks are small) make steel a better choice. I don't really know how your suspension feels. If it is stiff enough so that the front does not dive over rocks either at speed or in rocks, then aluminum may be fine.

Examples: stock springs, definitely steel. 6112 on 600lb springs, definitely steel. My current setup or Dobinsons, aluminum could do but I would personally rather have steel here in the SW. In rainy climates away from the desert, maybe aluminum.
