Well he walked me to the back parking lot and then said to me and my son..( my son is 36, not a kid) I really dont have time to deal with this. its out there some place....if your interested come back in and put a down payment on it.

He probably felt it was a low budget deal and he wasn't making enough on it to waist his time. Short sighted SOB! He lost any possibility of future sales. but future sale don't come. Buyers are not loyal, Why should sales people be?
Still sucks.
Good luck on your quest for a new ride. Hope it works out better next time.

Yes used car salesmen suck...but he's not a used car salesman, he's a new car salesman, he doesn't make enough commission on used cars to make it worth his time when he could be selling a new car instead...yes it sucks and new car salesmen also suck, all car salesmen suck, it just the nature of the job.

i disagree. buyers can be loyal and give good word to future buyers and the internet.as well as trash talk. regardless if it was a big pay day or not....up here in bum fricking no place...he had no lines of customers...esp this time of year. The parking lot and sales floor were empty..he knew I was coming in from texts and calls, ..well i counted 3 customers...at a toyota, honda, subie dealer....that was it...and at least double that with "sales people" hanging out. and the original guy I had been "talking to" passed me off to another.
Low budget ? Well 2k over blue book high for a dealer

What a douche. Doesn't matter if he is used or new biased, he was with a customer. Time to out a bunch of bad stuff online.
You might have to travel to Canada or the lower 48 for the deal you want.

Yep, take a road trip to Oregon, Washington, or Cal and get a nice rig and then go back and enjoy! There's usually several for sale on this site and if you can access the local "for sale" sites down there I bet you will see several that are worth the trip.

There is often a much bigger margin on used cars, and therefore a bigger commission. Maybe the salesman was an SOB, or maybe there is more to this story. Customers aren't always angels so maybe there was a reason this salesman didn't want to waste his time.

Check Texas, Arizona, Florida for 4wd vehicles. Warm weather states place less value on 4wd/Awd. You might cone out ahead after paying full or partial shipping. May be ship to Washington then you get it home from there.

You've got it backwards LOL.
Car sales people generally make more money selling a used car vs a new car.
Either way, it's terrible to hear that story but I'm sure it's quite common - that person's definitely lost business and will continue to do so with that attitude.

That would turn me off too but to be honest, I would rather a non-interested salesman than the high pressure type. Or those that hover around you blabbering away until I get annoyed enough to say “go away, i’ll Come find you if I have any questions”
My preferred salesperson type is chill, leaves me alone and let’s me test drive and browse without pressuring me for the sales

In other news: Paying taxes isn't fun, going to the dentist is a drag, and rush hour traffic can be frustrating.

Next thing you know someone will suggest trips to the DMV are a real bummer.
