Used ORP vs new SR5

Hey Guys
Need some help with decision
looking at either
2018 OFP has 45k miles
36k (USD) total
has remote start. no kdss.
good condition. was undercoated at purchase
will need new rubber soon

vs new sr5 $41.5k USD

Was thinking the ORP would be good deal if had kdss but not sure if should go new or wait.
Will prices drop over next few months with Covid?
Appreciate any advice

Not going to do a lot of Off roading and plan keep long time
Thanks

I personally would save the money and get the ORP. It'll be a nicer trim with more features than the SR5. No KDSS is a bonus, you don't want to have to be dealing with servicing it down the road if you plan to keep it a long time. But I'm not sure on the longevity of the system, just know most people who off road look for the non KDSS version as I think it limits how much you can lift and have to buy KDSS specific parts. Good luck.

I think the big thing is features. THe off road premium will have leather interior. If you dont off road the ATRAC and multi terrain select/ crawl control arent as valuable. Part of it would be the exterior styling you like.

I believe the SR5 may have a bigger infotainment system and you may be able to get better cell phone integration.

At least here, while initially there was big used car market as new cars were marked down, now there is a shortage of everything - new and used. I dont know that anyone is anticipating this supply shortage to change anytime soon

I find the resale on these 4Runners mind-bogglingly amazing. As such, I also find it hard to justify buying used (in most cases). In your case, the main ORP "upgrades" will be of no benefit since there are no plans to offroad (but that hood scoop IS cool!). Like another suggested, if the choice is only those 2, I would also go with a new SR5 Premium. But if it were ME, I would go new ORP (which is what I did 6 years ago - and I still love it).

Just curious how many people have had to "service the KDSS down the road" that wasn't due to damage to the system by a collision?

Probably as many as have had catastrophic transmission failures and have had the engine blow up.

We have two 4runners with kdss. Zero issues.

While I prefer the Off-road trim with manual transfer case and factory rear locker it appears that won't matter to the OP. In that case, get the new SR5 with upgraded LED headlights.

The transfer case isn't manual.
