DRL Question

So I just bought a 2000 4runner and noticed that my lights are on even though the stock is marked on the off position. I've read about how you can just unplug the grey part in the engine bay, but shouldn't they be off because the stock is on the off position?

Im not sure all the details of your model, but I know some of them have optional daylight run lights. If they are programmed from the factory with DRL then the second switch may not do anything unless you have the dealer deprogram it or you work around it.

The other possibility is that the switch you are referring to deals with separate lights - always on parking lights, etc

I know for my 4th gen, theres DRL, if i turn the head light knob further, I get an additional set of lights, and then full turn is the headlights

The 2000 DRLs are always On when the switch is Off and engine running. I actually like DRLs, for safety so other drivers can notice me. If you search on this site there is a mod to be able to turn them off.
