^ What he said. Generally speaking, if over time tires wear well, alignment is probably not the issue.
If the F150 you drove was newer, say 2015+, then you have to consider cabin insulation. I had a 2016 F150 and cabin insulation was fantastic. Even the windows were sound-deadening (forgot the terminology Ford uses). The 4runner is pretty quiet, but not as quiet as my F150 was, so there's that, too.
