That won’t prevent you from getting to your destination and home and you will likely be able to get it replaced without any problems. And you didn’t say if there are others that use the unit. Children are the worst with screwing up stuff and if you’re cleaning it regularly anything could get in there to prevent it from working. Now if your dashboard lit up regularly like a Christmas tree I would be concerned. The new JL electronics are failing and leaving people stranded and with terrible dealership support too because they can’t find their ass with both hands. I am certainly not spending that kind of money to secure a miserable situation.

Yeah, it does not leave me stranded…but it ain’t pleasant either driving around unable to adjust your AC! (I found that i could be using voice control…but that is painful!!) And forget about listening to your CD! Thankfully, i use my iPhone to stream.

I am only driver. NO ONE touches my LC! And no i don’t clean my dash with anything.

I am sticking to Toyota and Honda products because of their reputation…but it has not been faultless. My 2008 Sienna engine blew a piston/rod at 90k miles…lighting up my Sienna like a 4th of July…and i had to limp home…requiring $4500 repair bill…only then started leaking (probably due to dealer incompetence). My current Sienna literally rattles more than my kid’s school bus.

Dealer? I don’t have high hopes for Toyota dealers. Note the 2008 engine repair i mentioned above. One lost screw to my LC’s skidplate. There are other issues with my dealers (two of them that i use).

The sienna is an entirely different vehicle and driving habits and maintenance can cause those issues. It was not just driven off the lot with 90k on it.
Simply look at the JL forum problems and issues page and you might have a better reference for your argument. Issues are appearing without ever going off road and Jeep dealers are shrugging their shoulders at many of these issues. They are plagued with issues.

Different driving habits? It’s a minivan! I am not tracking it! I drive it like most folks who drive a minivan to the soccer practice! Maintenance? Every 5k miles at Toyota dealer…until KABOOM at 90k. Yes, i bought it brand new.

The excuses that Toyota fans make is hilarious.
Guy 1: "Jeeps have nothing but problems b/c of Jeep!"
Guy 2: "Well, my Toyota has this list of problems..."
Guy 1: "Must be b/c of how it's driven then, it couldn't be Toyota's fault!"

Anyway... I just want something that drives nicer - and that my wife feels more comfortable driving.
Our Rav 4 is more comfortable on rough paved roads than the 4Runner is - I could drive over a quarter and feel it in the Toyota. It may be b/c of the bumper/winch (I'm pulling the winch out this summer) or the grossly overrated Eibach suspension. I don't know. I just know it's not enjoyable to me anymore and I'm not using the truck for what it's intended for.

I don’t know how it’s driven or the regular drivers of your vehicles so it’s a logical question. A Sienna really has nothing to do with a 4runner or Jeep product though.

Instead of talking out your ass read the posts on their forum. Better yet, go test drive a Jeep and carefully get to know the truth. I know there are plenty of morons that should not be licensed. What would you add in the way of features? I was surprised I got heated and cooled seats, car play, 4WD... I don’t feel I’m missing anything from the Range Rover I traded in.

I'd probably have to go Platinum to get the ventilated seats, panoramic moonroof, jbl sound, bird's eye view camera, and 2nd row "Captain's chair" seating.

I'm aware of the problems jeeps tend to have. I had an XJ in the 90s (first the transmission when, the engine went - all before 80k) and considered a GC and did the research. But your denial that Toyota releases cars with problems is just sticking your head in the sand. We have a 2020 Rav 4 Hybrid. It was the second year of the new model and the second year Toyota sold that car while knowing it had a faulty fuel tank that prevented it from filling all the way. Affected damn near everyone one of them. There was also a recall for the suspension.
Toyota ain't perfect. But you know, I'm sure it was the way we drove it or b/c we had a kid in the car.

For those with suggestions, thank you.
If the Highlander came in a Prime with a decent amount of torque, I might consider it but the current versions are a bit anemic for me - most of our road trips will be in higher altitude. I really wish the new GX was out!
I really don't like Honday/Acura interiors and for that price you should love it. so that rules out the MDX.
I may stretch the budget a bit and look at Volvo/BMW/Audi - I've always had very good experiences with VWs despite the common opinion of their quality. Maybe I'll do some test drives in July. Have a couple friends with Q7s that are really nice drives.

I traded my 2017 4Runner TRD Pro for a ~1 year old CPO 2017 Range Rover Sport Autobiography (SCV8 with 510hp) and have been very happy with the decision.

It goes everywhere my 4Runner went off-road (great traction system), is quick (0-60 in 5 seconds), stops well (big Brembos all around), is incredibly comfortable and feature packed, gets great gas mileage for what it is (15mpg city, 19-20mpg highway with big A/T tires--both figures better than my 4Runner), and has been reliable through ~52k miles (been to the shop twice for regular service intervals and a software update).

Obviously there's a fairly large MSRP difference between the vehicles, but I got a great deal on the lightly used RRS so it wasn't quite as jarring.

I do hope to return to the 4Runner platform at some point, so I'm waiting anxiously for the 6th Gen to be announced/released. Either that or the LC300/Lexus variant. Possibly the next gen GX as well--big fan of Lexus interiors.

That's a pretty easy one...

Take my 2014, grab the $14-18k they keep offering me to trade it in...

and find me as nice as i could find it LC200 (or Lexus LX) 2009-2014...and drive it for the rest of my life.

Thing is...my T4R has been paid off for years now, so i am really loving going without a car payment.

But since you asked, the ONLY upgrade for me is a LC/LX

Yeah but the used market is way too inflated right now. I don't believe I would be better off since the only reason I'm considering it right now is that I could sell the 4Runner so high. Wouldn't I just be selling that high only to turn around and purchase a different used car at a high price?

Exactly. The only real benefit is if you have a 2nd vehicle that you can drive for now until the bubble burst…then buy.
