Loved my LC200 but for just a single guy I’m the city it was way too damn big

My JKU Rubicon has been reliable and the off-roading capabilities are hard to match, but for ON ROAD, I'd look at the MDX or a LC of a recent year. I'd lean towards the LC even with its dismal fuel economy and ponderous nature even if I were planning on taking it off-road at all. The MDX cannot handle off-road duties much at all. Since I need room, I'd look at the new Sequoia too...not the old one. I assume the new one will be much improved.

We're more of a road trip family than an offroad family now - it's fine, people change and we want an easy to drive and comfortable SUV about the size of the T4R.

The problem is that there's nothing I can think of in my price range <$60k that I want.
So, throwing out the idea of quality - we all believe that there's no car besides a Lexus that has the quality of a Toyota, what would you get instead of a 4Runner in the current market?
JGC is coming out with a new model next year so that means you wouldn't want to buy one until 2023 which rules that.
Lexus isn't coming out with a new GX until 2023 so that's also out.

What would you do if you were looking for something other than the 4Runner now?
If I still wanted reliability, for around $55 or $60K, a blinged-out Sequoia might fit the bill.

What to replace a 5th Gen with? For us, it was easy. We replaced our 2013 4R with a 2021 4R, delivered in early August.

The 2013 was fine, and we expected to keep it for quite a while longer. Our son, however, did a rapid job change to a position that no longer included a company car, so he took the 2013 and we ordered a 2021.

If something fills one's needs perfectly, why change?

The plan is to replace my 2016 4R limited with a 2022 4R Limited.

2018 JLUR going to sell soon, replaced with 22 4Runner. Yes the resale is GREAT! And other than oil changes honestly, no issues with the rubi. It’s a safe bet.
